THANKS BIOWARE for all your hard work and PLEASE help people who cant go online with there box. Also i no there are a lot of question regrading the keep so sorry for another one.

from what i can gather you dont a gold subscription to access keep as it would limit a fair few people, so could you not get access to the internet on your xbox via an ethernet cable?

Technically there are many...many people not online at home still.

That's an absurd statement. Whatever the Keep generates, it is data. There is absolutely something to transfer to a USB.The Keep doesn't generate an actual save file so there is nothing to transfer to a USB.
Otherwise, why would we need an internet connection? What gets transferred over the Internet? Data.

Still his point stands. Keep doesn't generate a save file.
The only alternative I can think of is to create the character and save ingame. This should generate a save file that keeps the world state and can be transferred by usb. Perhaps someone smarter than me can think of a way to translate Keep data and import them into the character creation but I guess this requires modding of the game files.

But that's irrelevant to the question asked.Still his point stands. Keep doesn't generate a save file.
I see no reason why such a feature shouldn't be part of the Keep. As long as they didn't build some sort or authentication system into the game when it connects to the Keep, it shouldn't even be hard for them to offer such a feature.

If I'm not mistaken, someone from Bioware posted that you log in with your account and exchange data on the spot. I assumed it's something against piracy or to force people to register their game. They haven't said anything about offline interaction.
I guess there is a temp file that holds the generated data, but that would require technical knowledge to do that not everyone possesses.

This account is different than the one I logged in with the games. Mostly cause I forgot my passwords, annoying as they are when having so many of them.
Digressing, It would help those that don't have internet to download from elsewhere and upload to their game. It would make sense and requires a little bit of coding to make that possible, as well as a format for each to read and write.

I agree. Don't force me to get online every time I want to start a game with specific history, please.

Well lets see they hopefully got another month to work on the keep since the game has been delayed to nov. 21. So they are still working on things. I think they will figure some thing out for there fans.

Piracy would be a ludicrous excuse. If pirates get the game, I'm sure they'll be broken up over not being able to import their world states. Honestly, I see no reason not to allow players to do this unless the issue is more technical in nature. It's a reasonable request, nonetheless.

You can beg all you want but it is not likely it will happen. Your client can only read a particular link pointing to the default world state as to make sure nothing of a world state can bug out thanks to your client. With a USB and an actual save BioWare would likely be back at square one with the same issues they wanted to eliminate with the Keep.Biower pls
Also, with the Internet being so readily available for most gamers a USB solution for a few gamers is hardly worth the effort. Anyone who can access this site should be able to reach the Keep and doesn't really need a separate, costly and buggy solution.

With the usb though, they'd need to build something into the game to manually look for and pull in the data. If it's not in now, then it's unlikely to be added.

One of the big pluses of the Keep is that it stops pirates from importing save data.
Make it USB-compatible? Well, they'll crack it within 10 minutes.
Annoying for people who don't want to put up with a shitty DRM despite being legit customers, but understandable.

Do you want to start a new game?
Yes? No?
Do you want to use The Keep to create a world state for this new game?
Yes? No?
Seems like a simple solution to me. It'd just be a more detailed version of ME's comic book style thing to create new game saves in Me2/3.

Because then they'd need to patch the game in order to fix the Keep. And patching the game on consoles is a huge hassle. Why not just incorporate The Keep into the game itself.

The Keep exists as it does so that the mechanism within the game that retrieves the data is as simple as possible.

With ME this option was an after thought. With DA:I it could be added mechanism to help players create new game states without having to be online.

The game isn't even out yet, though. There's no need to patch what could simply be made part if the game now.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that it would take longer and be more complex a procedure than you think to put the keep into the game across PS3/360/PS4/XONE/PC.

I'm going to guess it wouldn't take more than a few months... Or even a month. Like the two months we still have between now and launch.

So, a month to implement this....on top of all the other corrections, bug fixes and game polish they are already working on....and that's if your guess is right which I doubt, since they're still working on the keep.

I always find it a bit strange that when someone said he/she could afford a PC (good enough to run DA:I) or a console but can't afford the internet? If you are really in need of the internet there are always free WiFi zone in a city unless you life in the middle of nowhere, but if you are living in the middle of nowhere maybe playing DA:I shouldn't be you top priority? ![]()

The US only has a very small percentage of actual DSL/Cable type connections, where most are cellphone users that are online. The consoles and some pc's are not even connected online. Yes, it would require work and wont be easy in some cases. However, if I need to repost how many are actually online again versus the many that are not... I will. I shouldn't need to again.
It would be great if there was a way to drop it onto a USB and insert that way, but that does require more work. I doubt they will do it. It would be a nice option.
