I know Leliana can be intimidated/persuaded to stay if you destroy the ashes, but I am unsure if Wynne will regardless. It's not that she's that devout, it has to do with her feelings about blood magic. Don't bring either with you unless you want them dead (I think they will fight you there regardless of persuade option). I am unsure, though. Defiling the ashes was something I could never do, even on my dwarves.
There is no good or evil between Loghain or Alistair. What is the evil motive you're going for here? Is your Warden just ruthless, ending the blight any way possible? My King Cousland was like that. Is he insane, reveling in his new found freedom and trying to spread chaos in his wake? My lady Amell was a little psycho. Neither of these recruited Loghain because it didn't fit their mindset.
The only character I ever recruited him on was a Cousland so traumatized (read; PTSD) by what happened in his origin, he couldn't bring himself to kill a father right in front of his daughter, identifying too much with Anora. So Alistair went into self imposed exile and I finished the game with Loghain.
Evil rarely views itself as 'evil', having motivations for why they do things (unless they're completely psychotic).
More than who to recruit, you should have a mindset in mind for why they are doing those things, and once you do, the questions of 'what to do, who do I bring with me' will answer themselves.
Have fun with it!

This right here just really helped me lol , i love that little traumatized back story you gave too the human noble.
Thanks for telling me that i know Leliana can or will change her mind if you have max coercion but i wasn't too sure about Wynne its going to suck if i have to end up killing her ...shes a wonderful healer.
So in the end im picking Loghain (aww come here Loghain~! dawww >3<) hehe x3

I've only recruited Loghain on evil playthroughs.

Personally, if I don't plan on going through with Morrigan's ritual, I like to recruit Loghain and allow him to redeem himself against the Archdemon, regardless of whether my Warden is "good" or "evil".

The first time I recruited him, I thought I'd make use of him as a general. Yes, Ostagar went fubar, but he pretty much handed all the nobels who rebelled in the civil war their hiney's.

Well, I hate Loghain; even more so after recruiting and talking to him. He actually feels it's a foolish question to ask if he'd kill his daughter considering everything else he did?!
Note: The 1 character that spared him was evil and only did it to marry Anora. It was his engangement present. Alistair was also killed. I felt dirty afterwards because the whole thing was evil and not funny unlike other things like abandoning Redcliffe.
So if you're playing an evil character and actually like Loghain anyway then spare him.
About the ashes, Leliana can be intimidated with 3 points in persuasion and being hardened beforehand if you want to keep her. Wynne will try to kill you or leave camp afterwards. That's what I least like about Wynne. There are 3 instances in the game where she will turn on you if you don't do things her way. I can understand her fighting you if you're intent on slaughtering the Circle, but over a pile of ashes? Why does she take it so personally? You don't see Alistair flipping out and he was brought up in the Chantry.

One reason only. Blood magic. She strongly disapproves of it, and considering it was blood mages that almost got the circle annulled, I can see her getting angry enough to take it personally. Not saying I agree with any of it. She seems to know about the Joining and doesn't take such offense, but defiling the ashes is for no good reason, whereas the Joining serves to make new Wardens (who she seems to have a hero worship for).
Not saying it's not hypocritical, just saying I understand why she does it.

I pick Loghain, Alistair is simply too important to risk and Ferelden will need a King and Queen after the Blight is over. It also gives Loghain a chance to try and fix a lot of the trouble he started as well making him a part of the "Legend" that he regarded so lowly. He is also highly skilled in matters of war and has a history of besting far greater numbers with very few troops which is a trait that would prove essential against the Darkspawn which always outnumber the Grey Wardens 50 to 1 in the big battles that matter or in the Deep Roads.

What's strange is she won't turn on you in the Alienage quest if you accept Caladrius' deal to use the life force of the 6 remaining slaves to give yourself 1 point of constitution; as well as sparing the slaver. She'll give like 40 disapproval or something but won't try to kill you over it, yet a drop of blood into the ashes of a dead woman are going too far?

Fanatism, erm, I mean superstition would be the word. She believes it's an sacrilege against the Maker, but then again he doesn't come down to smite us for our wrong doings, does he? But yeah, her priorities are very skewed. I would place priority of living people over some old relic.

If you're doing an "evil" playthrough, Loghain is the obvious choice. Just arrange for Alistair marry Anora, and you can "keep" both of them.

This is pretty much a problem for all characters such as how Alistair'll leave you for Loghain, but not over this or anything else.

In my city elf playthrough, I have Alistair executed, then skip the dark ritual (he hates mages with a fiery passion) and then has Loghain take the killer blow, rubbing him out too.

Yeah, you could do that, but OP said they wanted to be evil AND keep all the companions.

OP is the margarine of evil. Just one calorie, not evil enough.

Take Loghain. Have him do the ritual. Let Alistair leave and see him again at the hanged man drunk.

True. Alistair puts up with everything else you do but will break over Loghain. With Wynne though both examples involved blood magic. The difference was that one involved killing 6 people and sparing a slaver while the other defiled a historical relic.

I do not really play "evil" characters anymore. Closest thing I did to it in DA:O was a DN that was very vengeance-driven, and so Loghain was killed for trying to screw with her (I actually recruit him more often than not, otherwise). Alistair was at -100 approval, though. He was basically her verbal punching-bag.

I did that too with an evil character. He's the only one (besides maybe Sten?) who won't abandon you at max disapproval. What's strange is that without approval you can't unlock many of the conversations with him (which is stupid) and thus I never got the one about the taint eventually killing the warden. Then later on when Loghain was recruited and Riordan wanted to talk about the archdemon Loghain stated that "we already knew the taint would eventually kill us." My pc was thinking, "Wait, what?! No one told me that!"
