I'd say Geth Infiltrator with Talon X and magazine upgrade V. In hunter mode it's just so fun to spot enemies around the corner and throw proximity mine to unexpecting enemies and then pop them out with Talon.

It´s my favorite playstyle for many characters. If I have to pick one, it is the Original Krogan Sentinel. Either the melee build with Crusader/HVB/Omni-Blade or a grenadier build with Raider/SC/HVB.

Any character, really. I find that I play any character like a Novaguard, I'm always in their face. Fury? Skip DC, mount adrenaline III + AF movement speed and get to them before a vanguard could. FQE? Skip fitness, mount adrenaline III and shove the barrell of the claymore down their throat. GT? Equip a Javelin and use it as a quickscoping shotgun, hiding its reload with flamer because your enemies are just 20 cm away anyway.

Krogan soldier with Graal Spike Thrower. "Throw" spikes -> purge fortification ->berserker charge -> laugh at corpse.

Krogan Sentinel with Claymore has to be number one for me.

 

N7 Fury with Hurricane probably second.

 

Batarian Brawler or Soldier with Wraith is always fun.

 

And as no one else has mentioned him, I'll say Turian Havoc Soldier with Raider - and that's despite not having actually specced him for full melee.  I had specced out of Havoc Strike because I don't host, but decided to give it a go again.  He's really good fun to play.
