Any kit is a CQC kit if done right. Except the Talon. The Talon will die before you say "tiramisu".

It's weird that on Gold you generally see players scattered all over the map. But on Platinum it always looks like there are 4 pissed off bee's with guns swarming a couple of poor Atlas's that were just minding their own business haha!
My favorites are Geth Trooper Carbine + Flamer or Alliance Infiltration Unit with Carbine.
Alliance Infiltration unit w/ Gscanner and Venom...all day.
She's the the best bloodhound in the game, she'll attack anything. If theres another EDI in the game and I see them stuck to cover...I lose all respect for them.
The only bosses she has trouble with are banshees. She clowns and jukes the crap outta anything else.
Melt Bashees in seconds with the Reegar Carbine.
Take a wild guess who my favorite "up close and personal" kit is. 
Volus vanguard. You may laugh, but there's something to be said for bouncing across the map like an invisible ping pong ball of biotic destruction

Just what comes to my mind right now. I'm still trying to make a melee Cabal work and sometimes I take a Havoc for close combat, too. I like the Kroguard, but often the weird clunky camera just puts me off.

A game with four Reegar wielding Geth troopers is a game where nobody can see sh*t, but everything just mysteriously dies.
Nobody mentioned the ONLY true in-your-face kit, namely the Juggernauts heavy melee of a Banshee. She is
so ugly I can't wait to drop melee and finish her with the Reegar.

N7 Fury, aka the definition of a cqc character.
Fury/Claymore OR Asari Sentinel/Claymore or Raider...no sweeter sound of a head being popped off by the claymore...Krogan Shaman's are fun up close too (don't tell Mega I said that)...and of course the GI (non-sniper naturally)...
FQE? Skip fitness, mount adrenaline III and shove the barrell of the claymore down their throat.

I skip the useless turret and use Wraith most of the time, but Claymore is fun as well. Cryo blast>incenerate is perfect for hiding it's reload
