Someone did a video a while ago (probably last year) During the grab they also become invincible like you do, but if you slide along cover as you do it. You break the animation and they stay invincible afterwards. Only the host can damage them, with this one it'll be down to lag but same result.

You have to slide into perpendicular cover at the right time during the animation. The timing is difficult at first. A guardian causes all kinds of havoc if you can do this to one without their shield. Fast, invincible, and pissed like a Dragoon with a Talon basically.
