The N7 Paladin Sentinel from multiplayer is IMO the most powerful class considering that they can set of all three tech combos with  snap freeze, incinerate and energy drain. They also have a pretty awesome shield that when upgraded can also set-up fire or cryo explosions. Basically this engineer build is to copy this class using mainly overload, cryo blast and incinerate.

Overload: chain, neural shock, chain

Incinerate: radius, burning damage, freeze combo

Cryo Blast: radius cryo explosion, frozen vulnerability

Tech Mastery: power damage, damage & capacity, power mastery

Fitness: durability, shield recharge, durability

Bonus power Defense Matrix: shield bonus, power synergy, power recharge

Other Skills that you'll probably never use:

Sabotage: backfire, explosive hack, tech vulnerability

Sentry Turret: shields & damage, cryo ammo, flamethrower

Combat Drone: detonate

Equipment: Inferno Armor (or Cerberus Spirit Armor if you have the Citadel DLC) and the N7 Hurricane with high velocity barrel and power magnifier.

With this build you'll keep recharge times to -200% and still have high protection from defense matrix. The hurricane is a high ROF weapon that will kill pesky guardians quickly. The three main powers that will be used are geared towards AOE damage since I prefer to set off multiple tech combos at once. With defense matrix, power magnifier mod and inferno armor, you'll be doing an additional 85% damage which is useful if you want to one shot some of the weaker enemies.

The sentry turret and combat drone will never be used since I find that they are useless when fighting the biggest of enemies (brutes, banshees etc.). Sabotage will be useful on the Atlas and Geth Primes to make them weaker to your attacks but apart from that you'll hardly see any use in it considering there aren't many Geth missions.

I love this build since it reminds me of my mage in Skyrim where all I used was the destruction spells whilst wearing daedric armor and a bunch of magic jewelry! :wizard:

I have the impression that the engineer is a favorite class among experimental builders because of the various ways to build it: Lockdown, Puppet Master, Shooter/Droner and of course Elemental.
I played a trilogy run with the class only once, and she was a "balanced" engineer, with Sniper Rifles in all the three games and GSB/DM in the last two.
