Oh boy, so many things to pause on! New char portraits, a bunch of different inquisitors...8D
Also did anyone notice that in one of the shots, Iron Bull's portrait shows him wounded? Maybe it changes depending on your health?

I like that there's clearer, more defining features in the new character portraits, but Sera's is ... distracting. And I like how the selected character is highlighted. Other than that, not a whole lot was new, but I enjoyed it. I wish the clips weren't so short, though. I had a hard time focusing on what was happening

Which means I can more easily focus on fire and not ice. I don't want to have to put points into ice spells in order to get the best fire spells.

good video but I have to say if I didn't already know more or less how combat works in DA games that would not have helped very much...

Do people here have a favour style, ranged or up close?

The schools of magic haven't changed. The skill trees available have.

If you're not close enough to see the horror in your enemy's eyes, hear the crunching of her bones as they break, and feel her hot blood splash across you, you're doing it wrong.

@Zatche: Good idea!
@Maria Caliban: But in the video, you can see the description of Inferno being "Mages of this school of magic blah blah blah"
I like all the fireworks in the combat. The game is looking very fantastic (as in "fantasey"). And the Sera icon is genius. ![]()

What was wrong with the mage's auto-attack (hand-blast) from the E3 demo, Bioware? Why have you gone back to the DA2 version?

All looks good, just seeing that though has got me thinking about the role I thought I was going to play, was going warrior, now not sure, Mage defo out, rogue has got me thinking, do I want to play ranged or up close & personal?
Do people here have a favour style, ranged or up close?
I'm an up close and personal kinda guy. Less aiming that way.

Aww dam it, the battle lust has me I must lead from the front, rather than picking people off from the back. I knew my instinct was right.

I like that (although known it would be able to) the camera was pulled back for this presentation. I like it. I like it a lot. Lol.

This gameplay video has me sold. Combat looks solid. I don't care about the PC UI until the time comes, then mods as usual.
(Are we forgetting other games that have disgusting UI on PC? This probably won't even come close)

Maybe it's just the enemies ability or my wishful thinking !

Not really impressed, but it looks like console gameplay. We'll see how it looks on PC.

Everything we have seen so far is PC played with a controller.

If you mean PC UI with m/kb we haven't seen that yet. If you mean totally different gameplay on PC then I think it's safe to say you're going to be extremely disappointed.

Ugh, that PR speech is dreadful. Seriously, can the narrator please just speak like a person in the next video? As for the content, I much preferred the hand blast thing for mages. I'm hoping it's either a toggle, or the DA2 staff nonsense is the result of some passive ability that makes autoattacks better and/or faster. And I need to know if the game can be paused in over-the-shoulder view. I assume so, as removing that option would just be inexplicable, but I'm hardly an optimist...

Bioware in general seems to have a big problem with, Casey in the ME NEXT at e3video came off so corporate and disingenuous. It was painful to watch.

What I'm shocked over is...no fireball? I don't see a fireball in the Inferno tree.
The only thing I can think of is that that flame blast thingy (top right of the tree) can be upgraded into one. But I know Laidlaw referenced fireballs in the PAX demo.
I realize it's only one spell, but wow. That's a heck of an ability to cut.

I believe fireball is the one directly underneath Fire Burst on the right side, on the second level.
