Just so you know; every time the word "anime" is used in this thread, I'm killing a puppy.

Did anyone notice how ironbull doesn´t actually look like a qunari at all but a actual bull? DA2 cool looking qunari frame is gone and replaced by a bull which someone lifted on two legs.

Hell, Geralt's back scabbards are actually functionally impossible, because the draw arc is insufficient to clear the tip.
Definitely. I was trying to put the scabbard of a sword I have on my back in a similar way (more like FF Advent Children, actually, but they're similar), but found I couldn't reach *up* enough to pull it out.
Looks very flashy, which I take is the point.
That is to lure in the button mashers with awesomeness. Kids like that stuff.
Couldn't the armour serve as a faraday cage?
Only if you don't touch any metal from the inside. And even then the clothing between armour and skin would have to be a good isolator (which is somewhat hard to achieve if you start sweating in your armour).
On the other hand, why would metal armour amplify the effect of electricity while showing bare skin nullifies it? The whole idea is somewhat silly...
P.S.: To the thing about Gerald's swords: Yes, his movement makes it pretty much impossible to get his sword. But it'd be the same thing if he had his swords on the hip. You have to have pretty long arms to make that possible. Which is one of many reasons why short swords or long knifes and daggers are actually pretty much superior in anything but range and thus were much more commonly used than swords of the length shown in most films or games...
All we need is the action button and we're good to go.
You mean the awesome button, right?
Anime.
Their blood is on your hands, not mine.

If you knew lightning bold wielding Mages were a possible foe, seems like you'd find a way to do it.
BioWare should make an RPG that is anime and manga inspired. I want to be a senpai, and have a harem follow me around and swoon at my heroic deeds.
This seems like the relevant part there:
A possible sign of an Unpleasable Fanbase is a Morton's Fork: if they complain about one thing, and the people behind the franchise listen and fix it, only to have other parts of the fanbase complain about the change. This is because, in extremely large fandoms, different portions of the fandom complain about distinctly different things, so that any change (and in particularly bad cases, any lack of change) will inevitably anger someone.
The Dragon Age fanbase is large enough that someone will always not be getting things exactly as they want.
That doesn't mean they shouldn't keep telling BioWare what they want, though, so long as they do it reasonably.
Keyword being reasonably.

Well, no harem. But in most animes there is only one girl as well, right?
If you knew lightning bold wielding Mages were a possible foe, seems like you'd find a way to do it.
Fine, I suggest you stop sweating now in your twenty kilos of metal plate, chain armour, heavy leather coverings and additional weight from weapons...
Which still doesn't tell us why the metal in your armour would amplify the effects while bare skin doesn't, eh?

One girl is not enough to swoon at the amount of heroic deeds I'll be putting out, though.

I had no idea we could will ourselves to stop sweating...
Conversely, it appears we can now will ourselves to start sweating...

Since JRPG's have also been brought up, watch some actual combat from a JRPG and compare what you see to the combat vid here.
Example:
If you truly feel that the DAI combat looks much closer to this than something you'd expect from a western RPG, then I don't know what to say.

So... Mass Effect 2?
If Miranda wasn't a man, and if Jack didn't act like a man, then sure. Tali is pretty haremish, though.
Definitely. I was trying to put the scabbard of a sword I have on my back in a similar way (more like FF Advent Children, actually, but they're similar), but found I couldn't reach *up* enough to pull it out.
While Back Scabbards do exist, they aren't something used the same way hip scabbards/sheathes are. Usually if you have something mounted in a back holster, you don't plan on fighting for a while. It's the Sword equivalent of a backpack really, if you need to draw fast your best bet is to have it loose enough to swing off and draw in front of you. Or better yet, have a dagger or axe on the hip ready if brigands ambush you on the road.
In terms of Greatswords, usually the warrior would have a squire with it sheathed on standby. These were battlefield weapons, not the kind of equipment you'd strap on for personal defense.

The people criticism the realism would like Kingdom come deliverance. It is an rpg that is supposed to be as realistic as possible.
Here
Dragon age is fantasy, the above game is not.
So people should keep their opinion to themselves? I don't see you following your own advice. If people want to complain that is their right (not as consumers or perspective buyers, but as human beings with an opinion). If you don't like it then that's fine, but don't tell people to keep their opinions to themselves. Plenty of people dislike (to varying degrees, for myself only slightly) the 'anime' style that DA is going, especially considering its roots (DAO and BG). They will voice their opinion and nothing you can do will stop them, either learn to live with it or ignore them.
I live with it just fine. You and the rest need to accept you are just a customer. Just because you recently played DAO with a Blindfold does not mean these over the top things have been there from the start, BioWare has not said anything different and have in fact stated this is the direction they are keeping.
The "I am a customer defense" loses all water when that's the clear direction of the company and you use it as a threat or a reason to act like they must conform to what you prefer.
Tell Taco Bell to stop serving what they call Mexican food because you don't like Mexican food. Its just as silly and delusional.
If Miranda wasn't a man,
Wha? ![]()

The animations bear some similarities. However, I don't think that this is what gives the impression of being anime-like. The fast paced combat is a much bigger thing in this. Origins also had some weird jumps (Ogre killing animation for warriors and rogues) but the scarcity of them and the much slower speed (the stabbing of the ogre didn't feel frantic, but deliberate - even as with thought behind it) didn't give the same impression
Wha?
Are you surprised to learn the truth? Scared? Maybe a bit of both?

No, I'm wondering where in the world you came up with that load of BS, man.

Hey logic, facts and reason do not belong here.
Now get back to work on the next season of venture brothers and I means a real season not the 12 episode bs they pulled last time.
