All of the classes look so much fun. I truly cannot decide what I want to play first!

Everyone who likes/dislikes the "new" portraits and DA 2 staff twirl and are taking them for granted, calm down and look at top left corner. "ALPHA GAMEPLAY".

My lord that looks so good. Guys I think I have an addiction problem already without playing the game. Haaalp.

I'm happy to see the stylish staff animations too. I thought that was something in DA2 that was awesome.

I think the only one who should calm down is you :)

Why are you telling this to the people who like it? Wouldn't it make sense to tell this to people who don't like it, since there's a chance it could change again?

I don't think there's anyone here who likes them so much that they'd be absolutely heartbroken if they didn't make it into the final game. I for one do prefer the new portraits, but I'm not going to throw a fit if they're changed again.

maybe we'll get the option to choose from multiple portraits for both our Inquisitor and our companions.

I'm pretty sure this is the beginning of a series of videos. So I'm sure they will go more in depth with later vids we just have to be patient.

It's titled "Combat" though, which makes me think this is the only one specifically devoted to combat.

Looks fine. Nothing new or unique but that's ok. Same DA/mmo combat experience but in frostbite. Realtime still looks kinda lame.

I don't like short trailers though, also the constant 5 second switching between different scenes really grinds my gears. Hopefully we get a big slice of talkie gameplay before launch. Not just the 2 minute stuff.

I think the real-time combat looks just as good as any other recent ARPG. it kinda reminds me of Dragon's Dogma a bit but with a lot more going on and a lot more flashy with the spell effects. DD had some really fun combat. It shouldn't be undersold how much variation DAI's combat is apparently going to use. In any event, I'd go as far to say they don't have many if any RPGs with combat exactly like DAI. So in that way it's rather unique. I'm not even sure if I could compare DAI's combat to previous Bioware games. Seems more like an evolution of everything they've done over the years. Probably would be unfair to compare DAI to just one game as far as the combat goes.

I actually quite liked the "bland" icons.

Less non-environment "pop" on the screen.

I much rather see information on abilities, class progressions, skills, class specializations and how MP is gonna work.

I was hoping for a video that showed a combat encounter from start to finish in the tactical overhead view.

Maybe we'll get one in the future (with mouse + keyboard UI!)

It would probably be smart to show 2 separate combat videos. One focused purely on real-time and the other picking a tactical encounter to show off the new tactical camera rather than cramming them all together in one video.

Finally some gameplay showing the more tactical aspect of combat. It looks good.

Sera's icon looks like the troll face though so that's just something to note if you're taking her along in your party...

If we can indeed change the color of our Quizzie icon I don't know if I'd switch from green, unless our lightbright hand changed color to reflect it.  Green just seems the signature look.

Dorian's heavily emphasized moustache is crackin' me up.

That is true, but this seems to just be a broad overview of the combat mechanics. They could have more in depth videos on classes and specs and what have you. We have to remember that not everyone follows this game like we do, so they need to get the basics out first.

DD had the climb big bosses mechanic though (Which is Awesome) & the combat is a lot faster than DA:I is. Pure hack & slash. Where as DA:I is a lot more tactical & slower paced (which is totally fine).

Looking at it though it feels like I've already played/ experienced what DA:I's combat has to offer. Just a more reactive DA:O with the exact same functionality & features. Nothing new that raises the bar, which is fine but disappointing personally.

Nothing to get excited about

The video was great. I love the new portraits! On 1:34 we could see that the Inquisitor had 4/8 Health Potions, in the E3 demo it was 20/20. Do you think they changed it or that it is dependend on difficulty?

Could be something that increases with level-ups/skill points?

Hmmm, I think I will turn off those circles around characters and popping damage numbers if possible.

I really much hope there will also be option to lessen that ridiculous amount of special effects.

Someone should definitely ask this. :bandit:
