For anyone who went to Comic Con (or perhaps simply looked up the videos) you would have seen the Dragon Age game play panel.  It showed the same game play that has been going around (except for the Male rogue aspect) but those who listened carefully would have picked up on a few strips and bits of new information.

My cunning skill is well above 40, so I listened very carefully, and one of the new bits of information that really stuck out to me was when Bioware mentioned that you can gain assess to new areas by having your Inquisition rebuild bridges.  I don't know why, but this just got my mind thinking of all the possibilities that await us in this game.  There could be places sealed off for almost the entirety of the game, forgotten about and unnoticed by all but the most keen explorers, yet wit the right assets and a bit of cunning, you can unlock an entire new area full of content many players may miss.  Reminds me of the N64 glory days playing Super Mario 64.  That game had more secret content then the Pentagon.  Most of it never even made it into game guides or official strategy guides.

Another really awesome bit of information that mayhap got me the most excited was when it was mentioned that you could trade with other nations.  Specifically the Inquisiton, can itself, trade with other nations.  For a single organization to have its own specific trade-arm speaks volumes to just how much power and influence the Inquisition will have, including the Inquisitor ourselves.  Trading wine with Antiva, dispatching soldiers to secure a trade route in the Anderfels, sending Scribbles to settle a dispute with Lyrium suppliers in the Dwarven cities, the possibilities are so much more expansive than what I originally thought.

My hype for this game magnified tenfold, all from literally less than 30 seconds of information.  That goes to show you, that even if a game play panel is showing essentially the same game play bits used in other panels, you should still watch and study it for new information.

I am curious as to what all we can build and how deeply we can customize what we build. It would be neat if we could choose whether or not to have areas that we have conquered opened up to the public. I think this has already been stated, but if not, maybe we can choose to dedicate some of our troops to patrolling certain areas and as a result the number of monsters/enemies would be drastically lower in those areas.

Ooh, maybe there will be some moral choices that are tied to trading!? For example we find Lyrium and get the choice of keeping it, trading with some group that will illegally distribute it or trade/donate it with/to the Templars so that they don't suffer from Lyrium withdrawal. So perhaps we could trade with groups in addition to nations in order to gain their favor?

Bioware has mentioned that they went nuts in terms of adding hidden things in caves, so maybe this game has enough secrets to rival Mario 64. Customization is good and my hype levels always manages to rise when more customization is revealed. This game is going to be great and it will be interesting to see how Bioware expands on what works in Inquisiton during the next Dragon Age game.

We first learned about the bridge building along with ridding an area of poisonous gasses some time ago. I'm not sure it's a secret activity, as much as it is one of the choices on the map or from the advisers.

Trading with other nations? That's it I can't help but being a fancy Orlesian-fashion wearing Merchant Prince.

I just hope they do more with the War Table then what Assassins Creed did with their whole "world strategy" system.  It just seemed more of a chore than entertainment.

Is this metaphorical bridge building, or more the literal sense?

I ask because we've known about the literal sense for a while.  In fact, it was one of the last things done on the E3 Demo that's on youtube(I marked it at 15:40, so you don't have to jump to the time yourself).  I am a tad interested to know if you are required to have a mage in your party in order to do stuff like that, though....

I'm very entertained with this idea. I also wonder just how much power will the Inquisition have. Will we own these lands like Wardens owned Amaranthine? Be the equivalent to a landed noble? They are putting some Mount and Blade there and I like it.

I am aware of the mage raising the destroyed bridge shown back at E3.  I was referring to the Comic Con game play demo.  The same game play was shown, but the developers mentioned a couple different things.  When they got on topic about the War Table, they mentioned that as your Inquisition gains assets and people, you can open up closed areas of the map.  You can rebuild a destroyed bridge over a large river and gain access to a new region otherwise closed off.  I just love that type of stuff.  It takes me back to old school Mario Games, where you hit a secret button, then when you get back to the World Map, an entire new area magically pops up.

The PC Gamer UK article touched on just this.

His PC was traveling out in the world and came upon the broken bridge. He was able to unlock it as an area of interest and the next time he went to his war map, he could pay to have it fixed. When he returned, he said he found a rather large area and two dragons to fight.

These kinds of things just get me even more excited for this game.  Adds reasons to explore, and more of a purpose for the War Table.

I hope there are numerous things like this.  Not copy and paste of one another, either.

I feel I am being picky.  Ah, well.

It also makes playing a mage way cooler than it already is
