Because there is no super PC manufacturer (like Sony or Microsoft) to pay EA any incentive.

I figured they would just make it a 'premium' option for EA Origins. Put the free 'on the house' game behind a paywall etc.

Digital piracy. You open the game to EA Origins behind a paywall, and within 12 hours it'll be available on the pirate bay.  The only way to prevent it would be to not give out the full game for that "trial", which would annoy people more than not giving them early access to the game at all...

And EA offered the deal to Sony first... Sony said no because they hate their customers.

Thats why the lack of it on PC confuses me.

I honestly think it should be on PC as well, but there's probably something I'm not considering thats stopping it or making it seem less like a good idea.

Ideally it should've been for everyone;Microsoft's platform owners, Sony's, and of course, those that game on personal computers.

MS agreed, good on Microsoft. Sony didn't because of their PS Now service;I don't like that attitude, as I feel gamers should be given a choice. But PCs aren't held by one megacorp, so...

maybe thats it?

Likely because PC's owners could mess with the games once downloaded in some way so that you for example only need a month then you start hacking the code of all the games you downloaded. No clue, just guessing that they felt it would be too easy to cheat the system on PC.

Please do not spread or assume things you have no clue of.

Same to those assuming underhanded deals were made

Just a heads up, recently paid £20 for the yearly EA Access. Now Madden 15 is currently on the early access thingy and while it may not be the same for DA:I I decided to let y'all know that it provides the full game in entirety including multiplayer but you are limited to only 6 hours play time.

I for one hope this is how the trial works for inquisition, for once ill be able to play a BioWare game before some (those not on xbox one with EA Access) Americans!! Even if only for 6 hours

Given that other game demos seem to be only limited in time and not content, i think it would take less than 6 hours for crackers to remove the time restraint on pretty much any game.

Interesting. I always thought that the limitations would be gameplay-related, though I guess you can't for Madden since there is no real option for "until this mission". Maybe it will differ depending on the game.

The operating systems for those PCs are all Microsoft, unless there's a linux version of DAI I haven't heard about.

I think we knew about the time limit for Madden.

Personally, I hope that's NOT the case with DAI.  I'd rather it be mission/plot based like the DA2 and ME3 demos, which I think is plausible.  For Madden, it's really all the same stuff right?  I've got my heart set on trying each origin/class and playing with the CC for hours on end for those 5 days!

Hmm, I have the deluxe edition on preorder for my Xbox One. Should I subscribe or should I not?

Hmm. A week of early gameplay before I go buy the game, or save my pocketbook a monthly fee?

Chances are I'll subscribe in November.

It's $5 for one month.  $1/day... worth it.  IF we don't have a shitty 6 hours time limit.

I suspect DA:I will adhere to the 6-hour limit. Don't see why it would be just a Madden thing.

My main feeling would be because there are so many options.  There's enough in DAI that a small, 6 hour taste, still wouldn't give you much of a look, whereas a sports game... it's pretty much the same stuff throughout the whole thing.  If you want to show someone the game is reactive, the choices matter, etc - you'll want to let them experience different races and see how.

I get what you're saying, and I agree. I think it would depend on whether this limit is specific to select games or is a system-wide thing. It sounds like it's the latter, which would be a bummer.

You could argue that six hours is still a LOT more than you will get out of any demo today, but I still don't think it's a good idea because you're actually paying for the service this time.

Totally agree.  Hopefully it's game specific.  I guess we'll see what Bioware says about it, or what EA lists when it goes up!

If it's 6h indeed, it'll be interesting to see how close people will get to completing the main mission.

The main story line as a whole?  Isn't that 50 hours in itself?

According to BW, yes. That's why I said it'd be interesting.

I don't think the trial will contain the full game.

Cameron Lee said it would only contain a part of the game, that they're going to talk about later.

(I assumed he meant early multiplayer access.)

For those saying that they would prefer a demo rather than game time, DA II demo only took me about 40 mins to complete but lets say it was an hour. There are 4 races  in DA:I so if you want to try each race you can set a timer of 1.5hours per race.

If it is indeed timed, i don't want to ruin to much of the main story, or any story for that matter so once we get out of the initial explosion an what not, i'd use all my time just exploring the scenery to get a good feel for the environment.

Also for those that want a demo, we may actually just get a demo as madden already has public demos (i think i know fifa certainly does) maybe EA thought giving access to the full game on them including multiplayer was a way of getting people who only follow sports to buy into the EA Access. As DA:I has no demo (devs have said this many times) we may just get privileged to a final demo they have used for the press.

I could seriously stay happy for days with just CC! I'll pay EA their fee if they let me mess around with it.

If the trial is the CC I think it could be worth it to play around with it. I hate downloading digital copies because it takes so long with my internet. But you basically have to download the game to an xbox one before you play it anyway.

My thought is that it'll just include the prologue or up to when Cassandra et al name you the Inquisitor.  Enough to give you a taste for more.

Which honestly is fine by me.  Just give me enough time to play with the CC and setup all my playthroughs :)
