oh dear, more weapons for the platform wars.
will we ever know peace?
*sad panda*
Could be that the trial pre-release is what was being alluded to with the whole "premiere content on Xbox One" thing.
It's the first single player DLC, Xbox will get it early.
Welp, looks like I'll be butting out of the forums earlier than anticipated, avoiding pre-release spoilers is gonna be really difficult ![]()
A little sad that I won't be able to enjoy the pre-release hype buildup with everyone, but this is good new for the XBox One fans and people who want some extra news just a little bit early
.

Ditto, I am going to hate having to avoid the forums and the Dragonage wiki for a few days.
@N7 Shadow 90 : sounds like it's game by game basis then. With an initiative forward allowing progress. I'd imagine the next battlefields 'trial' will just allow you to play some of the multiplayer with said progress carrying over. Thanks for linking the FAQ btw. Personally, I hope DAI has the char creator as part of its trial. Cause if this leads to videos of the full char creator on youtube I'll be pretty happy. I will be playing Destiny far to much to be willing to toss 5 bucks for early access (nothing in the vault I want atm, sadly) just to dick around with the character creator lol.
Hahahahaha No.
Does the 10% discount apply to just the main game, or future DLC's as well?
DA and ME are the only titles I play under the 'EA' banner, and tempting me with 5 day early access for games that I'll spend weeks playing/replaying isn't incentive. Paying $5 in Nov. for the $70 deluxe version amounts to $2 off.

I'm pretty sure it applies to anything that is purchased digitally.
Looks like I'll have to avoid internet for 5 days before release of DA:I. This is starting to irk me a little.

EA said exclusions and/or additional conditions may apply. So, unless you have inside information, it'd be better to wait until EA announces more information.
Yes! This is great. I hope it is expanded. I would totally pay a higher fee if it included 2 new EA games of my choice a year. I hope Microsoft is able to add more subscription services like this from other developers.
So, its a timed trial. Which means its what PSN is already doing with heavily discounted titles. You play an hour and then if you buy the full copy from them, you don't have to start over. Only Xbox decided to raise the stakes by using new games instead of heavily discounted ones and they are hiding it behind a new paywall. Given how few demos we have seen lately, especially with 'current' gen games, this paywall plus timed trial that carries over might be the way of the future for demos? Meh, either way, its sneaky and clever for EA/Microsoft...but it also kinda sucks. I hope now more than ever that Bioware can release a CC demo for a different platform...
I doubt this will be any more spoilery than a demo would be. At any rate, the only thing I would share would be the CC. Anyone who intentionally spoils the story for others is indulging in jerk behavior.
Anytime anything gets downloaded, there are also going to be people data-mining it, so be prepared for that possibility too. If you really hate spoilers, you should probably go into hiding at least a week before release.
I don't see any particular advantage to an early taste of DAI unless you're a new player to the franchise. Is this early access also going to include early access to the dragon age keep and an ability to import your world state? A saved game without that import first doesn't really appeal.
So is it basically just a demo that they're offering? Or I wonder if it'll be the CC and start of the game. Like ones I've played before that let you get about an hour in before it locks you out.
If it's anything spoiler-y then I'll need a heads up with everyone else on when to duck out and make my Twitter account private (a random tweeted me the ending of ME3 after I tweeted about picking it up. The joys of games not getting released on the same day worldwide. Will not be making that mistake for Inquisition.)
If I had an Xbox I totally would pick it up to get some early access. Soften the blow that we don't get it until the 21st.
But nope. I'm over with Sony. Nuts. Guess I'll end up ducking out for even longer now.

No. Two separate things.
This is an absolutely amazing deal, just 30 dollars a year for early access and discounts for so many awesome titles, most notably of course being DAI. I'm more a PC gamer, but I do have an Xbox One, so this deal is definitely a no-brainer for me. Even though I plan on playing the entire game first on PC, it'll be fun to play it a week early on the Xbox One!

This is always the case, yes.
well. Looks like I'll need to avoid the forums even earlier now.
I was always going to get the game digitally and will subscribe to it come November for a year to try it out. Already own BF4 and Peggle 2 digitally so the vault really doesn't offer that much to me now.
Steam has had free trials of games almost every weekend for years now, and I never bothered to try a single one of them out. Don't get me wrong, I love Bioware and hold no ill feelings toward EA, but the number of games that EA releases over a course of a year that I am ever interested in is about.... 1 annually (if that).
I have had origin since its inception and my library there still only consists of ME3, DA2, and Crysis 3 (which I never bothered finishing). I did go back and purchase DA:O ultimate there too just to have a backup copy and because the game was THAT good.
After some intake time... I think this is fantastic. I pay £20 - And for a year, I have access to various EA titles, get 10% off digital purchases (buying DAI DLC is almost a given for me) AND get to give the odd game (Inquisition! Woo!) a shot before it releases. I'm not sure that I like the precedent that the 'pay for demos/trials' model could set. But it seems like it's just the icing on the cake for a fantastic deal on the whole, if you're interested in the games in the 'Vault', in my opinion.
Why does PC never get cool stuff like this, early access to DLC and such? ![]()
