Old God Baby In-game

Like just as a minor cameo, have his own side-quest, protagonist, antagonist?
I think it'd be cool if OGB could be a companion, with complete a completely unique skill. (I know that's a long shot though)

This is like deja vu.
Hasn't it been determined that OGB would be like 10 years old in DAI? Not that it would matter, as it isn't considered canon.

All companions have already been announced so it stands to reason the OGB will not be a companion. The OGB is also still a child if he even exists so it is unlikely he is going to be an antagonist nor is the OGB the protagonist.

I think you guys are being a bit too literal, I assume that OP means in future DA games as well, hopefully better put: "if sometime down the line they made a Dragon Age 6 in what capacity would you like to see the Old God Baby introduced if you wanted him Included at all"

Hasn't it been said that the more games go by, the less they want to do anything with the OGB because it will more and more be new players who never had a warden and therefor don't want to tie up loose ends of the wardens decision about the ritual? New players don't really care about Morrigan.

I actually agree with you that being a companion in a future game would be awesome (my Warden's/Alistair's son as a companion? yes please) but I feel that has a very small chance of ever happening. But who knows, the Mass Effect team worked on companions in ME3 that could be dead, so...
Barring that, I'd like a full-on meaty DLC centered around the OGB. I do suspect we'll learn more in Inquisition but I want the nature of the child, and the child itself, to be fully explored. Meaning I want to get to know him as a living and thinking being and not just as a plot point. Doesn't need to happen in Inquisition. I'd be perfectly fine if we could get more info when he's older and has developed on his own. In fact I think I'd prefer it.

Oh, that. I just keep fighting it, because I hate the idea. ![]()

The OGB as a companion seems like the best way to handle the matter. It would keep the players who went through with the ritual from feeling as if the decision was pointless, but would prevent those who did not take that option or were unfamiliar with the earlier games from missing out on vital content.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a Dragon Age spinoff game similar to DA2 (I know it wasn't a spinoff, but it might as well have been) where one of the potential protagonists is Urthemiel. Three different set protagonists that varies by the class you choose. The other two could be Tallis and Renvil Harrowmont or a similar predefined warrior or rogue that hasn't had much development.
Remember that the keyword in that is spinoff. Meaning apart from the main games.
I would buy that.

yeah kinda like we had Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard?
Hell bells even a different studio could make it, doesn't have to be bioware.

I like to see a small cameo but his appearance would vary based on our Wardens. I want to see him have a bigger role in future games.

If you want to be in Morrigan's good grace's, you'll have to look after her brat for a whole night. And considering he has the soul of an OG, I doubt it'll be that simple.
If everything goes smoothly and you manage to tuck him into bed before 22 then you'll unlock the Babysitter achievement.

Nah, I don't think the OGB is going to be a companion if he appears in DAI. At the most we might just see him with Morrigan once or twice.
I'm actually leaning more towards him being an NPC for an optional quest that would also give us a lot of new information about the Old Gods.

Vital content like... a companion? So if you did the ritual you're rewarded with one whole extra companion in the game, and all the writing and quests and character development that comes with it; and if you didn't, you're actually punished for your choice by getting that much less content. Really.

This is why I think a spin off game is the best way to go. A what if scenario where the OGB exists and is the protagonist. Similar to Elseworlds stories comic books usually tend to explore.

If you leave Sten to die in his cage, you get less content. If you side with the templars and kill Wynne, you get less content. If you don't have enough friendship or rivalry with Isabela by the end of Act 2, you get less content. All of these things happen as a result of choices you make, just like the Dark Ritual is a choice that you make. It's not "punishment", it's consequences.

A brief cameo in Inquisition, at most an NPC or optional boss fight in some future game. No tangible rewards or exp for interacting with him, but you do have access to some additional Taint-related lore. That's about as far as I'd like to see it go.

These choices are made within the span of a single game, and are not potential outcomes to decisions made one or more titles in the past...

So? It's not as if you have to play past games anymore - it's as simple as generating a new world state with the Keep.

Let's be real here... people that don't want the OGB to be special argue because they disliked Morrigan and if the baby isn't some evil world breaker they'll be unsatisfied. Therefore everyone that did indeed go through with the Dark Ritual should deal with it being an irrelevancy.
