Answering the thread's title, it established Briala as an enemy to be defeated.
The Eluvians must be placed in the hands of the Inquisition.

If we encounter a mirror beforehand, I'm probably gonna be shouting the password at the TV screen in the hopes that the Eluvian will turn on lol.
I know, it's so frustating! We know what the damn password is.
Oh well, I suppose taking a pincer to a few of Briala's fingernails and teeth will solve the issue. If all else fails, there's always blood magic.

Smash the mirrors. Nothing good ever happens when you touch ancient items o doom.

Antient Elven items of doom. Arlathan did not believe in Quality Control.

If anything, Masked Empire made me more sympathetic to Orlesians. Or rather, that I recognize the complexities there now. I came out of thinking that the Empress in particular is a bit like Thomas Jefferson. Forward looking, educated, and cosmopolitan in some ways, but a bit too stuck in her own world to understand the elves (much like Jefferson and slavery). While Gaspar redeemed himself a bit for his sense of honor. As bad as he is, he doesn't seem like the type to break any promise he makes. It's just a matter of getting him to make a promise in the first place.

They're teleporters in a medieval setting. I'm not going to smash that.
No, just going to requisition them.

How are going going to deal with the problem that the magic world on the other side makes humans queasy?

I don't see the long term viability of "requisitioning" the Eluvian. They're kind of built for elven DNA, and a pain in the butt for any human using them to full effect.
How are going going to deal with the problem that the magic world on the other side makes humans queasy?
Maybe not as a means to fight battles, but to transport supplies rapidly across Orlais.
The Grand Duke Gaspard de Chalons is the only hope for Orlais. Ambitious, honorable, and ruthless enough to get things done.

Queasiness can be overcome. I wouldn't want to try passing an army of thousands of humans through it but the Party should be doable.
Also, it's a supply line that can't be interrupted. With a Eluvian on Skyhold and others in many Marche cities, good luck trying to starve us out.

It doesn't seem like merely being queasy, but almost like they were fighting gravity or something. Not exactly, but something really debilitating like that. It seems pointless to funnel supplies in those conditions.

I'm not sure about having one in Skyhold, just in case there is something already within the inbetween world. That being said, having one nearby would be amazing, or having one set up in each of our major fortresses. I want to have Dagna take a look at them.

Not pointless at all.
While it certainly slowed them down, multiple trips through the mirrors didn't prevent the humans in Celene's group from fighting and surviving a Varterral. It doesn't seem to have any lasting negative effects to one's health.
And even if it did, it would still be worth it if it means getting supplies to populations who needed them.

Maybe. I guess it depends if it outweighs the time to just supply people the traditional way. The book isn't clear just how much they were being slowed down.
Besides, we can always employ elves. The Hinterlands demo had this quote: "If the mages come back, the shems won't lift a finger to save us."
Well, since I'm already planning to side against the mages in the first place, it should be possible to earn the loyalty of these elves. Then, they can be used in coordination with the Eluvians to transport supplies, carry messages, etc.

It does have other advantages. Like I said, it would be the perfect way of supplying a castle under siege.

Using elves against elves. That sounds lame to me, but to each their own.
I mean, I just watched a documentary last night about how southern states during Civil Rights era hired turncoat blacks to infiltrate NAACP meetings and such. That's what this reminds me of. lol
The mirrors remind me of Palantirs. (From what I've read, didn't read the book.) Very useful, but unless you know where they all are and who knows how to use them, they do pose a threat.
What if someone/thing knows more about the mirrors and uses them against you? It just seems like a huge gamble to use them. The elves are desperate, the Inquisition probably has more alternatives available. Maybe.

I can just imagine the eventual "Where does this one g-oh sh*, Darkspawn."
If you control the gem, then you can close and open Eluvians at will. That should help diminish the threat of unwanted visitors. I wonder if it would even be possible to change which Eluvian connects to which.

You don't even need the gem. You need the password to manipulate the network.
And yes, you can change the destination of the eluvians. Briala used one mirror to teleport Michel and Gaspard to Val Chevin and the same mirror to send Celene to Halamshiral.

Soldier: Sir!
Inquisitor: Yes?
Soldier: Uhm... we've got darkspawn fighting demons fighting other demons fighting bloodmages fighting crazy elves fighting red templars in the courtyard.
Inquisitor:...
Varric: I'm not going to say it
Inquisitor:...........Somehow this is your fault.
