I'm fairly certain most people have numerous issues that matter to them, but I'm not surprised the issue of Orlais is brought up in a thread that focuses on a book where Orlais is the primary setting.
Yours are seemingly The Dalish, Mages and The Dalish and little else Lob =P
I'd personally like to see Orlais to collapse and Tevinter to rise again but alas.. With the world under threat once more Having a weak Orlais where the conflict is centralized acting against the superpower of the south would be rather foolish.

From now on I'm going to demand the right to go on hours long quests to help children find their pets, give elves hugs, and tell humans about how evil they are.
All while the demons are doing their thing of course.
I imagine each player would have their own perspective on how resources and manpower should be allocated. I'm not of the opinion that players should be punished for wanting to help disenfranchised groups who need assistance.
And I am of the opinion that they should be. the Inquisition is not a charity, you should allocate men and material based on what is the fastest way to end the crisis
Helping elves is its own reward!
After all when the demons kill us all we'll all be equally dead!
The Night Elves helped during the Orlesian occupation of Ferelden, so I imagine non-humans can be beneficial in helping during a crisis like the Breach.
....since the game takes place in both Ferelden AND Orlais, and we're building the Inquisition to be an international organization, I don't see the Inquisitor being beholden to either Celene or Gaspard, but I do see the Inquisitor's actions having a strong influence, maybe even the deciding factor over who wins the Orlesian Civil War.
I do know that my dwarven Inquisitor is going to be all for ending the chaos as quickly as possible, whereas my Qunari Inquisitor will be all about strengthening the Inquisition by whatever means are possible, and my human or elven Inquisitor will be all for helping the small man.

That voice competition quest where I help that guy find his cat... Yeah i'm going to kill him and his cat just for wasting my time like that. Twill' be fun

Only if you blatantly ignore my posts about the threat of the darkspawn, the necessity of the Grey Wardens, whether interracial relationships will be properly addressed, whether our background is in stone or if the player will have agency over elements of their character's history, and the plethora of other issues I address. But you seem somewhat surprised that I discuss Dalish and mages in threads where the subjects would inevitably come up.

The crisis is taking place in Ferelden, Orlais, and the Dales.

And any help they might be able to give will earn them my consideration.
But if it comes down to Elven or Orlesian support I'm taking the Orlesians. The Inquisition needs bodies more than it needs a SJW approved unit list.

Not to mention one of the armies you gathered in Origins was potentially made up of Dalish elves. It was kind of a big deal.

Hey, my Warden was a mail man in Denerim and exorcist, as well as a national delivery boy. I need money for a lavish lifestyle of fancy armor and glowing weapons. Priorities.
And I am of the opinion that they should be. the Inquisition is not a charity, you should allocate men and material based on what is the fastest way to end the crisis
I guess that's where we disagree, since I don't feel anyone should be penalized for not playing as I want to.

The crisis is taking place in Ferelden, Orlais, and the Dales.
The Dales...In orlais, And my appologies only 95% of your posts are about the Dalish and Mages, as to the characters history you manage to always work it in there as well.
Anyway City Elves in the Dales or a unified Orlais and bunch of Orlesian Chevaliers.. This sounds like the start of some terrible riddle is this even a real choice?
The crisis is taking place in Ferelden, Orlais,
and the Dales.
there is no more Dales, its part of Orlais and has been for centuries
there is no more Dales, its part of Orlais and has been for centuries
Maybe. It's inhabited by mostly elves, and the books say that the humans are already fleeing it because of the civil war and the mage/templar war.
It's quite possible that the Inquisition can guarantee it belongs to the elves again.
It's not outside the realm of possibility. Doing so will probably ****** off both Celene and Gaspard though.
there is no more Dales, its part of Orlais and has been for centuries
They'll rise again if he has his way, Because the Dalish are the greatest living creatures in thedas apparently.
The Dales...In orlais
You do realize that the developers have separate topics about Orlais and the Dales as their own regions, right? Despite the Dales being occupied by Orlesian forces, and technically being part of the Orlesian Empire?
And my appologies only 95% of your posts are about the Dalish and Mages, as to the characters history you manage to always work it in there as well.
My posts about the Dalish and mages take place in threads where they would come up - like the elven threads and the mage thread. You seem awfully surprised that I'm talking about elves and mages... in threads that talk about elves and mages.
So, the book has shown Briala wanting a big elf group, could be beneficial for the Inquisition that Lob wants to take advantage of. Others may wish to squash it to gain favor with orlesian nobility. Eluvians or more money, choices, choices. Both seem legit.
there is no more Dales, its part of Orlais and has been for centuries
You should let the developers know that so they stop addressing the Dales as a separate location from Orlais, then.

Or he sympathizes with them more than most people do, and feels that the bias and racism the elves suffer throughout most Andrastian countries makes them deserve a homeland where elves can live as they please without bowing to human law, and the humans should respect their right to self-govern and live as they so choose, and not force their ways upon them, outlawing their religion, and not treat them as subhuman second-class citizens as is far too often the case.
It's less about elves being great for Lobsel and more about standing up for the disenfranchised. At least, that's my estimation.
And it' not nice to make fun of someone else's beliefs about a fictional universe. I like dwarves, yet I don't find myself under near as much scrutiny as he does with elves.
What is it about the elves, besides the fact that the Dalish can be quite rude, that throws people off so much?

Even if that is possible the Elves could never hold it. They don't have the political capital or military might to do it on their own and no sane Inquisitor would be willing to start a war over it in the middle of a demonic invasion.
Besides it would just be another reminder that the elves don't care about anything but themselves. Pushing for a kingdom of their own in the midst of an international crisis is... unwise.
What is it about the elves, besides the fact that the Dalish can be quite rude, that throws people off so much?
That's just the thing, it isn't all elves. Just the Dalish.
What is it about the elves, besides the fact that the Dalish can be quite rude, that throws people off so much?
Because they have the audacity to stand up for themselves.
"Looks like an apocalypse! Time to push for a homeland!!"
The Dalish are idiotic closed-minded fools who insist on cold relations with all others. The moment they are actually worthy of respect is the moment I will give it to them. The City elves are a different story, the Dalish are just terrible.
Because they have the audacity to stand up for themselves.
I'm not sure wandering around the wilderness waiting for all the humans to counts and standing up for themselves. Shartan would not be impressed.
