I would like to see ME4 for the PC!  I can't believe when I read it was being made only for the other platforms. I LOVE Mass Effect, have played them all several times. But I will not purchase a totally new gaming system just for this version. WHY oh WHY not include PC gamers??  Someone please take survey to see how many disappointed ME fans are out there with a PC!!

Who said Mass Effect 4 will be released on PS4/X1 only?, did I miss something?.

I think this person is complaining about the thus-far unannounced remaster is not coming to PC.

Stealth gameplay inclusion. And I'm talking about both the traditional sneaking and camouflage, disguise in crowds mechanics. Mass Effect was always focused on combat, with the main character being a member of military. New character should not be a soldier IMO, in fact, I'd love for him to be a double agent or a criminal, like protafonists of Harry Harrison's Wasp and Eric Frank Russell's Stainless Steel Rat correspondingly. Such a character will allow to explore the parts of galactic society that were only briefly touched in previous games and have more variety in combat approaches.

More customization. Customize vehicles (both ship and new Mako) with mods and appearance. Having a personal ship you can tinker with would be just awesome! More armor options like cloaks, hoods, environmental protection... Have the bonuses be reflected in the armor design, like extra shields will have slots for bonus shield batteries. Armor mods to customize each set. I liked the weapons in ME3, there were a lot of them, each useful for its own purposes (except a few shitty ones like Katana and Shuriken).

Environment utilization in combat. See Spec Ops the Line sand mechanics, for example. Add to that Frostbite Engine, destructible cover, different environments of other planets and it would be a great addition.

The power system probably needs to be revamped, and here I thought ME1 actually had the best idea where your abilities were there for utility, rather than simply stripping defense layers like in ME2 or spamming detonations like in ME3.  While this is an RPG series and not a shooter, just mashing hotkeys in combat isn't all that exciting and guns should be doing most of your damage, with the powers complementing that in various ways.  The guns should be looked at as well, there were just way too many weapon types in ME3 and most of them were practically useless.  I did like the modification system and perhaps that should be expanded into a full customization system with the various gun models done away with entirely.

What adding two more (SMGs and Heavy Weapons) is too many weapon types? I do agree that certain weapons should be culled to bring it down to a lower number of weapons, but I think most of the weapons are still useful. Gonna have to disagree on the genre, ME2 onwards became more shooter with heavy RPG elements rather than the RPG with shooter elements that ME1 was.

Ever play an adept or infiltrator in ME1?  How'd you like those cooldowns?

Can we not have a weight system or at least a way to remove it? That is why I prefer the PC version since I could just remove it. It takes out the fun for me when I found an awesome gun and can't use it due to the weight.

I think the squadmates' AI should be able to customize, so that they could shoot the enemies closest, farthest, or aim at the ones I am shooting, maybe run or hide when they're at 50% or 25% health instead of just standing there being shot at.

It would be nice if we could control other squadmates as well.

Keep the gameplay relativeley close to ME 3 but with more refinements. More weapons, more classes, more enemies and more maps and I personally don't have a problem at all keeping the multiplayer store the way it is.

Something like an optional layout for the action button to keep people from sticking to things when they don't want to would be nice.  Don't go backwards with the gameplay design go forward without breaking what isn't already broken.

Personally I don't like super huge maps for multiplayer and I don't like vehicles. Everything gets too spread out and it takes too long to get to the action. Dynamic levels that change in different ways when they take damage wouldn't be a bad thing though.

For the single player I wouldn't mind bigger maps and more rewards for exploration.  Maybe give each squadmate a diiferent fighting style/personality on the battlefield with the player having the ability to tweak their tendencies over the course of the game.

I'd say the weight system is perfectly fine. It's not forcing you to use weapon type X on character classY like ME2 did, but your choice influences the way you play. Wann use the Typhoon on an Adept? Sure you can, but with the massiv amount of damage you deal with your gun you will deal less damage with powers cause your cooldown is longer. Wanna be the cast and combo monster? Use a light weapon with ULM mod and do the most damage with powers, not with shooting.

I 100% agree. The weight system adds an infinite amount of depth to building your loadout.

It's one of the things that makes the mp great and keeps everyboy from running around with OP characters all using the same guns

My wishlist

  • Space Exploration/Combat- I don't like the way that I have to travel space with just a solar sysytem map on the last three games, it's like you don't have the experience to explore outer space like see the size of planets, quasars, and stars on a 3D scale. So make Space exploration a 3D scale to view the entire space. And introduce space combat in gameplay instead of cinematics showing it.
  • Ship customization- I wanted to fully customize my ship and I want to select and purchase any type of ship a fighter or a frigate, weaponry, paint jobs, and upgrade hardware.
  • Have players to choose to play solo and/or with a team. And introduce co-op in a single player campaign like on AC: Unity
  • Improve weapons- I want weapons to have multiple uses such as an assault rifle strapped with a grenade launcher for multiple uses of taking light and heavy targets and have a fire rate switch for assault rifles (single, burst, and auto).  Also add weapon mods, add customization of the player's arsenal, and enable to equip and switchout heavy weapons.
  • Improve maps and navigation system.
  • Exploration- Set up an open world type of exploring places like Assassin's Creed or Skyrim.
  • Choose your character's race.
  • Let players choose to either shoot, use a melee weapon, or use hand to hand combat system and upgrade those skills.
  • Add stealth/action and puzzle solving elements.

I'll update more soon.

And I want to see this style of gameplay in the game and THIS is exactly what I wanted in the squad based gameplay: Fluid and lifelike animations, synchronization, and efficiency. This is my prime example of advance AI and next gen animation and effective combat design that should be in Mass Effect 4.

More natural looking combat environment. I don't like walking into an area and instead of thinking what it would be used for in setting I immediately think everything is designed for combat with a lot of background to make up for the breaking of immersion. If it is a military training facility or the defensive perimeter of a facility I understand. I like to see things in use.

Weapons with alt fire modes. More realistic animations for humanoid enemies.

Make sure the single player envirironments don't look and act like pop up shooting galleries. ME3 made maasive strides in this regard and I want them to continue the trend.

Since is a shooter game, they can introduce Navy SEAL CQB style of animations, tactics, and execution put in to the squad-based gameplay, thus make them more fluid and more life to it they could have the best shooter game if they did.

Oooh, lots of great ideas already. I think the combat in ME3 is pretty darn good already, but as some have mentioned there can be some additions.

-Smarter AI. Except for maybe the Phantom, who is very aggressive in the SP, most of the AI kinda stay put. I was playing Wolfenstein New Order awhile back, and Man do those AI's come after. I mean, they will track you down around the corner; behind a box. Although there weren't alot of boxes, iirc. You just had to find cover where you could, but you better not stay long. Friggin Nazhies! Nazhies everywhere!

-When I was buying weapons, I had a hard time cuz I never saw any stats on them. I didn't know what I was buying. Idk, if I missed something there?

-The heavy melee move is too long, imo. I think someone mentioned this. I would like that to be shorter and not so slo-mo. I don't need all that slo mo stuff. (Annnnd a choice of heavy melee weapons would be nice.).

-Some more melee moves. Some melee takedowns.

-Not so many actions on one button? Sometimes I want to crouch, but instead I go vaulting over the friggin box. Right to my death....(lol!, but not funny...lol.)

--Combat is pretty solid, but I would like to see it opened up more. The terrain of battle opened up.

--Oh! And someone mentioned being able to set up tactics for your squad--as much as possible--like the DA series. I would absolutely Love that!

To be honest it makes me sad seeing everyone focus on combat-related suggestions. Combat in ME3 wasn't amazing, but it was decent enough that a few tweaks here and there would suffice.

The ME series is an RPG/shooter hybrid, not an out-and-out shooter or brawler. There are plenty of other games you can play if you want that experience. I would much rather that 90% of the effort went into environments, characters and customization.

This is a thread about gameplay and combat suggestions, so people are talking about.... guess what.... combat !

This said, i agree, ME3 combat was pretty decent and doesn't need many changes.

-A better AI

-throw the "one button to everything" feature out the airlock.

I agree too that the squad AI could be better. (Or whatever space magic controls them :wizard:  ) especially when they are hurt/health is low. Perhaps your squad can ask you for assistance too if they get badly wounded which takes them out of action for a short period. For me some of the squad AI issues were more...hmm...cosmetic is the best word i got at the moment. But some of the time, in ME2 and 3 the most i'd have the squadmates behind me and if i ran through a doorway and the door closed behind me *POOF!* they're suddenly in front of me. It'd ruin some cutscenes too if one was triggered and they were stuck elsewhere, Shepard would essentially then be talking/referring to nobody. Maybe i just move too fast  Whereas some other times they'd just get downright lost, as if the game was thinking i was elsewhere so i'd have to go find them. Not too annoying exactly but worth noting.

I'd love it too if some smaller details were brought back more often, I do miss those long elevator rides and conversations between squadmates :P

Sure we got elevators but mostly all of them are silent! :(

Actually, it's "gameplay/combat", and I take combat to be only one aspect of gameplay. Obviously combat ideas are getting a lot more love here than other gameplay issues tho...

Ugh, yeah the one button thing is definitely one of the tweaks I mentioned.

I'd say, keep the current system with "one button to everything" but also add new buttons for other actions, like Ctrl to toggle crouch, Z to toggle prone, Shift for slower movement (works great when crouched for sneaking).

Give our character fast-paced walking animation as default on hub worlds so that we're not forced to run around like crazy or jog around Presidium.

After playing hundreds of hours ME3MP ... why can't squadmates in SP revive us?

Player Character: "Hnnargh"

Garrus: "Hold on, I'm comming!"

Wrex: "I'll try to distract those fools for a while"

Sync kills, stomping, time limit and the need for buttonsmashing would still mean no full immortality, but less reloading old savegames.

All in all, they should be lethal. ME3, as awesome as the combat was, was basically a battle between you and full blown retards with weapons.

I agree. Majority of games settles for a "difficulty" slider. I am all up for good design procedures - why is the difficult slide needed in THIS game specifically? It might ot me.

Hence why I think Bioware should explore another variable - TTK. I always felt like ME3 was almost as if Borderlands. Enemies are so bullet spongey it's obnoxious.

I think there needs to be an option to make everything more "lethal" as you say.

A TTK slider offers people with lower reaction times to still enjoy the game.

And those who are more aware to enjoy a more tactical, puzzle solving approach to combat, rather than point, click and hold till the bar goes empty.

Some people might call me crazy but how about more than one button for run/interact/cover/jump/revive?

I might be the odd one out here but 90% of the time I was happy with it. Granted I wouldn't mind a separate button for interact/revive. Revive bites a bit in multiplayer.

Edit: I also would love to see better use of weather. I don't recall too many variations in weather in ME3 missions. A stormy level pouring with rain would be awesome for a fight in. I appreciate that Bioware seemed to experiment with it in multiplayer. Some of it looked pretty cool.
