I dont think its for polishing , coz delay then shouldve been longer...like 3-6months(EA subs get 1 week early access to game for xbox kinda another proof).

I think its coz October is filled with a lot of good game release + upcoming helloween , so delay is at date where isnt many big hits and couple weeks after helloween , and not to close to christmass either. I personally was a bit overwhelmed for october coz there was 5 big hits coming and no money to get them all..

Extra time is always a good they want to make DAI the best it can be to make sure all bugs are fixed. Im sure people would rather have a delay to fix them. Rather that the game being buggy at release than have to wait for a patch later.

I did have a week late october but I managed to get week commencing 24th November. I told my manager I had plans.

He didn't seem to see through my false grin. or notice the bead of sweat rinning down my forehead  :D                                ( joking.....  :D )

I plan to do christmas shopping for a day or two that week. Im going to take my time on DAI.

I wouldn't say happy but I'm fine with the delay, it will mean a lot more anxious pacing for me but maybe that's a good thing, I can use the exercise lol

No, not at all
The whole schedule is pretty much crushed. I expected to buy DAI in October and skip a couple of days of studying just to play this game and in November I would switch to ORAS which is a console game so it wouldn't conflict with my studying
In December we have tests, in beginning of January exams which means I'll have little time to play unless I skip side quests and simply do the main quest
Plus now I need to borrow some money from parents and I hate doing that
I understand, though, that it has to be done... But I wish we were told earlier

Happy? No, I don't get happy if a game gets delayed when it already had an actual release date. If the delay is needed I am fine with it as long as it won't receive yet another delay. The only delay I was "happy" with was the extra year to add more to the game.

I'm happy in the sense that the game will be better when I play it. I'm not happy in the sense that I need to wait longer until I do so.

Overall that's a net positive, cause a buggy first-impression ain't all that nice.

Not sure 'happy' is the right word for a delay of something you are so looking forward to getting.    I am perfectly ok with it though.   More development and bug squashing time is never a bad thing.   I have seen amazing series come to a fiery end recently when they decided to release themselves in super buggy status (*cough* X:Rebirth *cough*)

I also found out recently that I maybe down and recovering from a surgery coming up in early Oct...   so the delay might work out best for me personally.

Well, not happy, but I can deal. It's only a few weeks. And if it means a better game, I'm in full support.

Well, I was extremely annoyed mostly because it was announced a couple of days after my deadline for locking in vacation for the rest of the year. Much like a peasant in a Monty Python movie who was turned into a newt, I got better. Mostly by managing to move my vacation time, even if it did cost me a couple of on-call weekends.

And hey, at the end of the day, a more polished game is a good thing.

No, 'cause now it comes out only three days before Pokémon.

It's gonna be like last September all over again.

I'm fine with it.  Better to allow the team the time they need to improve the game rather than release the game with a huge Day 1 patch with more patches down the road, which I'm sure BioWare would rather not do.

I am not happy with it, but I am also not upset by it. Would I like to have it sooner? Sure but not at the cost of it being buggy and unpolished.

Not really. It gives me more time to do other stuff before the game is released.

I don't understand this mentality.  If this game had come out in October and you didn't have time to play it then, you could just have waited until you did have time.  Releasing in November means that EVERYBODY, even those who would have had time to play it in October, have to wait.  So why are you rejoicing that other people have to wait like you?  That's the most selfish thing anyone can say, "I wouldn't been able to play it in October so I'm glad that now EVERYBODY has to wait until I have time to play it." -_-

I don't understand why people can't just wait to do something instead of wishing that the possibility of doing it be delayed until they are able to.

You're talking almost as if the previous mentioned user's statement in regards to the delay was the sole reason of its postponement which is just a bit ridiculous in of itself -- What you're essentially implying is that he's wrong to have that opinion and should feel guilty about it which is about pretty shallow and selfish of you in return. Some people will be happy about this release some are not -- This goes for anything so live and let live with it I say.

1 month for us does not mean 1 month for others.

I remember reading another post about the delay about someone who is shipping out on November 17 and won't be back for 6 months and had to cancel their preorder.  Sure they understood the situation but I couldn't help but think "Wow, as unintentional as it was Bioware/EA just kicked that guy in the balls and straight to the moon." (on a side note I hope that person has a safe deployment)

They needed another year to add more stuff to the game?  Awesome.  They need more time to polish the game?  Ok.  I can understand and accept the REASON for the delay, doesn't mean I have to be happy about the delay itself.

Well, i would rather a polished and bugfixed version released in october...

but i would prefer a polished and bug fixed version in November over a scrappy buggy version in october.

Thanks for the clarification. This, coupled with the fact that DA2 was virtually bug-free for me (save for a couple of import glitches that I believe were actually caused by the way DA:O stored data on choices) has definitely reassured me about how polished DA:I will turn out to be.

If it means anything, my other main concern about the delay was the thought of all the poor devs who needed a well-deserved break/celebration on Oct. 7 and then found out they had to slave over their desks for another 5 weeks. Kind of puts it in perspective for the rest of us.

I'd love to be done in October.  But I'm still in favour of the time extension because it'll still mitigate stress while on the actual project.

Happy?  NO.  I don't want to wait even longer - but I ACCEPT it.  I'd rather them polish the game and make my experience playing it better than ship it out when it's not at it's best.

I'm happier with fewer bugs, sure. But I'm mostly happy that it's not coming out with the 170 other games in October. It will give me a little time to rebuild funds.

I'm not happy, but I'm not unhappy. Waiting an extra month + 1 week isn't gonna kill me.

Probably better for me as a student our midterms are usually the second week of October. So I would probably binge on Dragon Age rather than study. November 18th is right before a big holiday break (where I don't go home and it is sub freezing outside), so I got nothing to do other than play Dragon Age.

I am really looking forward to DAI, but I can wait a bit longer. Besides, the two games I am looking forward to and really waiting for are Natural Doctrine and DAI. I know once DAI hits, I won't play any other game when I can game for months upon months. Even longer if that game has MP. So, I can wait. I am really expecting to have my socks blown off on this one Bioware. You have set the bar pretty high!

I'm not unhappy about it. Fewer bugs and other issues like that is a good thing.

as long as the game is good, they can take all the time in the world.
