Rumor has it that Dragon Age Inquisition will have some 'form' of multiplayer facet to the game.
So with couple months till the game arrives, what's the verdict on the multiplayer? Why is Bioware still so quiet on this?

It was actually some form of "online component", does not essentially means multiplayer.
The Keep fills that role.
If there's a story, we don't know what it is. BioWare have said nothing.
If there's any news, I expect we'll hear it at Gamescom in a couple of weeks.
There is currently no story.
Any speculation is simply down to multiplayer features having not been confirmed or denied.
This thread explores some of the speculations:

This thread discussed the matter following the possibly leaked achievements (may contain spoilers)

So, if DAI has multiplayer what kind of enemy factions do you think we will be facing?
Venatori?
Red Templars?
Demons?
Qunari?
Gamescom.
If they don't announce it there next week, I don't know when they will.

I wouldn't care about the enemies we would be fighting so much as to how varied the playable options would be.
Can one play as fantasy creatures above and beyond the four SP races? That's my biggest question about MP; followed very quickly by conformation on whether it is Co-op (yes please) or PvP (not against, but defiantly not in place of co-op).

This is what I am thinking too.
Heh, in a similar vein to Evolve, I think it would be neat as punch if you could have a PvP mode where folks control a member of a party (say, a party of four like the SP campaigns have been) versus someone else controlling the dragon.
I'd love to play one of those big girls. ![]()
Not gonna happen, but that would be really cool. And a choice beyond just the one PvE horde mode ME3MP had.
This is what I am thinking too.
Hola fellow Guardian!
I would love for there to be a MP section of DAI. It was fun in ME3, other than the fact that you had to play the MP to get the best ending. But I'm sure Bioware will not make that same mistake twice.
MP will make an already long-lasting game longer.

I think Venatori, Demons, human bandits and Red Templars. That's four enemy types, ME3 had three.
Look at this from a few years ago (with awkward cameos from random Canadian members of Parliament)

They're also arranged in enemy categories (from basic grunts to elites and boss-type units), which to my mind looks similar to how Mass Effect 3 structured the enemy factions.

I would assume it might start out like the ME3 mp with a smaller core group of playable races and then, if it is popular increase and broaden out with free dlc's.

Our former minister of defense and our Minister of the treasury board. lol
Yes I remember those diagrams and the for sure looked like they were decked out for mp purposes. Who knows, BioWare has managed to keep this under wraps very very well one way or the other.

To be fair, ME3 eventually got a fourth faction with the Collectors (never in SP of course, if we ignore the Armax-arena of one DLC).
Further, they might just be arranged that way due to differentiating them on an aesthetic level, rather than strictly maintain the four as distinct groups. After all, somewhat more recent footage such as the one of Redcliffe's rift would suggest that "Tevinter" does employ and/or cooperate with demons, for one.

I think the Tevinter is just a separate category below the demon section. Humans, Demons, Tevinter and another one we can't see but the one on the end almost looks elemental in nature or lyrium monster.
I'm pretty sure the one we can't see is the Red Templars, they hadn't talked about them or revealed them at that point.
One of the silhouettes on the upper picture is a Behemoth, and we've been told that they're part of the Red Templars faction.
I'd be shocked if MP is in this game at this point. Seems like something they would've revealed by now with the game only a few months from release. Makes me question how good it is if you haven't even heard much about a feature this big. ME3's MP was kinda a last minute thing but even then we knew about it like 6 or so months before it released. They haven't even hinted at MP until recently in the form of not denying it and the leaked achievements.
If it is in the game then hopefully it's nothing like ME3. I liked ME3's MP a lot but I don't want to play that style in a Dragon Age game. Hopefully Bioware realizes that the reason ME3's MP was so popular was because it was so easy to get into and you had so much variation in how you could play it. The MP was perfect for people who didn't play a lot of MP games and just wanted to run around feeling overpowered all the time with all the different classes/abilities/weapons. I still remember my Cerberus Agent! Talking about ripping a server to pieces and not giving anyone a chance to kill anything lol. ME3's MP was something so incredibly basic/simple but so fun to play. I actually found that as they consistently nerfed stuff in that game it became less fun to play and revealed how mundane the design was with the levels/waves.
I seriously doubt it exists simply because if you believe Bioware's word the game is almost twice the size of any Mass Effect game. That's a lot of resources devoted into one area of the game already. It's hard to see MP being added on top of a 100+ hour experience. ME games SP were only around 40-60 hours and that's if you played them incredibly slow like I did. A more accurate number for most players would probably be 25-40.

There are plenty of clues to there being something.
Are most convincing for me.
And there are enough people for and against the concept without knowing anything about it,
I'm sure if it were there it would only be revealed once there was something show off.

It's five days until Gamescom, I'd wait to see what they have to say there.
I think it'll be announced on stage during the EA conference.
I can't see it being much beyond a horde mode copy or some kind of basic storymode co-op.
Because if it was great they would have shown it by now.

If it's co-op something even if it's like ME3 that would be pretty cool. RPGs are the only genre that insists on being antisocial when it comes to MP. Whatever is revealed is going to be a flood of negativity and any flaw in the SP will be inevitably blamed on MP being added to the game lol. Would make sense why it was kept quiet for so long if it is indeed in the game. I'm sure if they do reveal something you'll see a lot of blame on the MP causing a delay.

- The lack of comment either way.
- The Japanese Xbox posting showing 1-4 players (since amended)
- and the "We have not announced any co op features as of yet" tweet
