A friend on my X-Box list told me about the Destiny Beta day one it came out. Downloaded it, but had zero urge to try it out. And now the beta thingy is over, and I still don't care. Have very high doubts it'll be anywhere near as good as ME3mp. And really not sure if I should be buying it either?

I'm also not really into FPS at all either. Ands only played and still play Fallout 3 for it's much stronger RPG feel. Setting & lore is really great in this one... if the setting & lore is really great in Destiny, then I may fall in love with it?

Multiplayer wise,  ME3mp is my first and still only mp game I've played or more accurately actually play. Tried very briefly to play Borderlands 2 and I just can't get into it. The skipping voice overs was the final nail in the coffin for that game. Thus really regret buying it.

And in the end, I really can't imagine there being anything better then ME3. Don't know if it's a curse or not. But still very happy with ME3mp, so who cares about any other game.

IMO Evolve looks infinitely better than Destiny. More like ME3 MPer as well.

I'm actually not a fan of FPS games either (in fact I hate most of them and find them boring), but for some reason, I actually enjoyed Destiny quite a lot. I guess the only thing that really bugs me is that the backdrop looks kind of goofy with all the other players messing about and jumping off of the edge of the home base (which kills you constantly), but I can ignore that. I will say that I'm rather fond of the setting so far. It's hard to really tell from the beta in terms of the lore. Hopefully the game will open the world up a lot more.

I tried Borderlands 2, and I really didn't like that game at all either. The best thing about it, in the end, was the intro. I'm just glad that I borrowed it rather than bought it.

For some reason, while Destiny does have its own set of "mechanical" looking tasks that you can get via beacons in the field, ME3's MP seems a lot more artificial with its fixed waves and random chores. It doesn't help that I absolutely loathe the random crap store. I'm not even concerned for the idea that it was designed that way to prolong the life of the game. That doesn't stop me from hating it. I guess what really draws me into Destiny over ME3's MP is that the latter's characters are not really characters at all. They're just there to fight, but are never part of the actual story. I suppose it's not really fair to really compare the two directly, since they are just accessories to the game revolving around Shepard.

I hope it has more than one game mode. It does look fun, but I don't know if I can shell out 60$ for one game mode.

I really enjoyed Destiny, to me that's the key, no matter what game YOU play, did YOU enjoy yourselves. Halo was my 1st FPS and to me bungie nailed it before me3 I always went back to Halo now I always go back me3 in 3 months I might always go back Destiny. Yes the Master Chief Collection hits X1 in November lookin ' forward to some more Arby and Chief fun!!!!! P.S. did I mention that I like bungie, read all the Halo books, also really like the story and I allow my son to play with my mega-blocks Halo kits tbh I also have a Mordin action figure next to Arby and the Chief ........

I'm cheap and don't have any current gen consoles (although I am leaning towards one or two) so I'm going to be picking it up for 360, but otherwise pretty much the same for me. I won't deny that I'll have the odd urge to swap ME3 in for a bit, but man...that beta got me really hyped. Every time I play a match now I'm thinking in the back of my head "I could be playing just the beta of Destiny right now and I'd be having more fun".

I enjoyed the beta, but I don't think I'll be buying it anytime soon.  Some of my friends want to get it for PC, some others want it for XboxOne, and others want it for 360, so that also makes it a bit more difficult in choosing which one to buy.

Also, I just didn't get that "WOW!" experience from the Beta that I was hoping for.

Yup September 9th and RIP ME3MP.  On xbox360 though because cheap ass  :?

Story missions were cool. Strikes were lot's of fun and even did some "pugging" in it :P  Explore was fun as hell with all the public events and stuff (I bet there's going to be more events in the actual game).  Screw people complaining map sizes, I don't want it to be next Skyrim for god sake. PVP just blew my mind because I wasn't expecting to like it and it ended up being the most fun  :D  Now the news about Raids...

Did you actually explore the whole of Old Russia? That place was pretty big, even without the areas guarded by invincible enemies. Bungie said the Moon was their smallest Explore map, and if you were around when they opened it during the beta, you'll know that it wasn't exactly tiny.

Not interested...i'm not into FPS's either and while destiny looks good and probably plays well, i've always been the kind of player that likes to see the character. I can appreciate seeing the designs of the kit, watching them grab enemies and seeing them perform their powers. Seeing a gun or just two hands on a screen with the screen going up and down (respresenting a walking or sprinting animation) just doesn't do it for me.

As others have mentioned, the same was said about titanfall and GTA5....narturally this sort of thing will happen. Whenever somebody gets anything new, what they played previously takes a backseat until the shine wears off. This happened with me with "The Last of Us" and the current "Tomb Raider" games. You don't have to leave ME3MP as i believe that Destiny is a probably a good game overall, but i think both games can co-exist.

I really didn't notice a huge dropoff in players when titanfall or gta5 dropped...BSN...you are not the center of the universe!!....

Evolve is designed to be modular ... expect much DLC and micro-transactions.

Mind, from what I've read about it so far - they're doing a pretty good job with making each of the "things" feel unique. The support robot for instance can pop his head off an use it as a UAV recon drone, one of the "medics" has powers geared towards keeping people on their feet and the other for getting them back up again - rather than 1 medic for all healing type roles.

So if they're actually putting some thought into the support classes, I'm expecting something fairly imaginative with the monsters and hunters even if the set we've seen so far seems relatively limited.

Kind of how I'm seeing it too. I just don't see the lasting appeal right now.

Unless it ends up on the Steam Workshop ... then pretty much anything is possible :)

That is the advantage of a modular build - makes it very moddable and that alone can add a lot of longevity to a game.

So what, this whole jumping to your death mindless acts of brain deadness is like a spreading plague or something? Seen it also happening in Dark Souls II in the first hub area. And in that game you can click on these blood spots on the floor to get a view of how these guys died, which of course just shows you another mindless gamer jumping off the cliff. I hope megabeast wasn't one of these players on that game? Unless this game is really that boring to these people and that's about the only fun they see in this game? Then I approve. But me, I was trying very hard to find what's fun instead? Maybe I should of just jumped to my death too, popped the disk out, jumped on it, then fling the pieces out my 18th floor balcony instead?

Oh, and the fact that I'm just playing a mindless/faceless avatar with zero purpose but to just give me something to control, really bothers me in videogames. In ME3mp finally being able to play as a Batarian, Volus, Krogan, Geth, Geth Juggernaut are the stuff dreams are made of for me personally.

Or it's just people being silly in a video game. That doesn't give you a funny excuse for writing off a game you don't enjoy though, so I guess we'll just sweep that under the rug.

Also screw the whole "mindless/faceless avatar" business. If I enjoy a game and I feel like the story for my character is lacking in any way, I take advantage of the situation and make that stuff up myself.
