Maybe this could be an option.
Whoever was closest to the answer assumes the role and they can either take it or pass it on to the 20th post.(unless they were the 20th so then it gets passed to the 19th.)
What about something like that?
I think this is a good idea. Is everyone happy to do this? If so, I'll add the following to the OP.
If the character is not guessed within the 20 question limit, the user who was assuming a role selects the user that they think guessed the closest. The selected user then choses whether they wish to assume a role, or whether they want the user who asked the 20th question to assume a role instead. If the user who was the closest was also the user that asked the 20th question, they can instead choose for the person who asked the 19th question to assume a role.
