Didn't they say we find a bed somewhere while exploring for Skyhold? If that's true, I really hope Viv or Josie make some comment about it being all moldy and leafy

Yeah , I think it was Mark Darrah.
I think we won't have a lot of different choices at the start , and you get more options by exploring and getting friendly with some factions.
I remember last year (?) they said , for example, you could only get certain armor if x faction taught you to craft it.

I think it was the pretty gold one (that I MUST HAVE):

Sounds very similar to Assassin's Creed. I didn't like how AC handled operations. It's not so much I expect DAI to be a sim game but rather, the rewards were underwhelming in AC. The major problem aside from that is your operations didn't feel like they did anything other than looking at some numbers you gained. This sounds like you can influence many things and most likely environmental too based on what Bioware said in the past. As long as you're properly rewarded then I'm fine by it. AC it didn't seem like you had much incentive to keep going doing their operations. DAI sounds like you can possibly gain extremely rare resources or maybe even influence factions to possibly open new areas up? in that case, it would be awesome.
Include hot pink Bioware. I'll fully decorate Skyhold in hot pink! I'm hoping the customization options for Skyhold are pretty robust.

You mean Brotherhood?
Didn't your assassin's level up? You get enough of them high enough level, you could summon them in a fight and kick an entire city's ass

Exactly! It's things like this that people don't notice in every day life! Our brains aren't weird, they're AWESOME!!! ![]()
I'll just be doing my happy psychologist dance over here.

Random thoughts while reading this:
-Wow! This is awesome. It's like taking the little bits of Awakening and applying it to the whole world.
-This game is going to be really long and I need to plan my first playthrough with a strong character. This whole, I'm going to play so and so on my third playthrough could mean a year from now.
-The dungeon needs an NPC executioner with a really morbid sense of humor.
-Skyhold hopefully will be filled with NPCs doing different functions! (I love that.) Not just the three advisors.
-The little choices you make might actually come back to hurt you. How do you handle the barbarian with the goats for example? Give him weapons and make him an agent? Send him to the dungeons? Ignore him until he sadly walks away, the goat dragging behind him?
-And I'm going to have to have a slightly mad Inquisitor on one with playthrough with no fashion sense who just randomly picks out items to put in the Skyhold that have no semblance of theme that will drive Vivienne and Josephine nuts.
"We'll have Grey Warden curtains! Bann Teagans heraldy over the fire place. Orlesian furniture...and an Almarri rug. And I want a tainted Darkspawn sword hanging on the wall! IT SHALL BE GLORIOUS!"

Well going by that logic, to use violence in dealing with problems is a way for the populace to become emotionally desensitized to the sight of blood, suffering, and killing; and ultimately to place little value on human life. Capital punishments does not prevent crimes (such as murder) but sets an example for you which in turn is followed by the citizens. As history has thought us, when the ruling position goes further by using vengeance, cruelty, and other unnecessary violence, people learn to behave similarly in their daily lives.
Of course, there are indications in history with death penalty having set the form of example wishing to put forward, but in most cases it tends to end badly.

Reminds me of this scene from El Verdugo (spanish movie). The executioner's daughter gets a boyfriend. She wants to buy him a shirt and asks his dad what neck size the boyfriend's got - question he is able answer accurately just by taking a quick look. (the scene)

It's an interesting auto-correct our brain does with written language. If we're reading text that contains errors (spelling, mis-labeling, etc.) our brains have a habit of filling in/correcting what is wrong causing us to read it correctly. People that have good reading comprehension tend to do this more. It's quite fascinating, and I don't feel like torturing the forums with a rant about it.
i thought i was strange to be doing that. good to know others do it too (just not the people i live/work with sadly >.>)

NO! We can't let people have fun! We have to hate Bioware/EA because of the past and judge everything they do in a negative light!
Like it or not, the past matters to a whole lot of people. If people feel burned after getting hyped before for games that ended up being bad you can't really blame them for acting twice shy.

I don't know if you can download an individual issue from the PC Gamer website (a cursory glance only presents subscription options). You can, however, find a list of digital storefronts here where PC Gamer can be purchased. I would assume that you can purchase an individual issue from most of those, as I did on the iTunes Store for this issue.

Mark mentioned in the PAX Prime demo that they wanted the player's actions, not words, to dictate what is going to happen. So you can say "I will save the keep" but then go and save the village instead if you want.
lol!
Moral philosophy as a game deciding factor, this is why I love Dragon Age.
Is the moral code of your character based on intent? Actions? Consequenses?
This choice lands dragon age in the consequentialist school of thought.
Also utilitarism.
-A utilitarian would consider intentions meaningless and only value consequenses
Another view is deontological ethics, this hits inbetween kinda
- Kant argued that it was not the consequences of actions that make them right or wrong but the motives of the person who carries out the action
- For a deontologist, it's neither the intention nor the outcome, but the action itself, that matters---namely, do my actions correspond to a pre-defined notion of good or bad?
- you need to do right action regardless of what consequences will be. For example, you will never murder anyone even if killing someone can save 100 lives.
I guess the closest thing to basing moral code on intent would be virtue ethics.
- a lie is wrong not because of its consequences and not because it violates rules but because it is not what a virtuous and honest person would do
As I follow utilitarian moral code IRL, I approve of this choice ![]()
Edit: Correct me if I made an error here.
