Does anyone know if the US version of the magazine will have the same content? I'm thinking about swinging by a store to pick up a copy if I can.

It looks like the US and UK versions are separate.

Eric/DA Fan, where did you find the link to the digital copy? I only saw 12-month subscriptions on their website...

"It’s detailed, cavernous, but more importantly, there’s more stuff you can do in Skyhold than on Commander Shepard’s ship. Past the tavern, stables, courtyard, kitchen, and dungeon (for imprisoning people, not slaying rats, I learn)

no rooms and bedrooms? :(

I have to say, I really like the sound of the reactivity to past decisions. Whenever my character is given an opportunity to explain his/her actions to others after the fact, it's great for fleshing out their personality.

You already know why your character did those things. What's to flesh out?

Damn, that's what I was afraid of. Hm, well if there's a way for me to get the digital UK version...

So the companions can know our motivations and react accordingly. It just helps add to the overall feel of a "living" world.

I believe one of the Devs confirmed bedrooms via Twitter at some point.  Maybe that Q&A they did.

So, I go pull my latest subscription copy of PC Gamer (US edition) and yes it's the September 2014 edition and no, there isn't an article on Skyhold. Sad panda.

On the other hand there is an article entitled: How editing saved BioWare $1,000,000. It's an interview with editor Cameron Harris mentioning Patrick Weekes and David Gaider, but not DA:I specifically. Have to live with this.

Could you choose the UK edition specifically?

Edit:  Clearly I can't read.

It's the expression of that choice.  And who knows, maybe once the ripples of that action have a chance to spread, your character might think differently later.

Like in Alpha Protocol.  You play through Thorton's actions, and then you cut to the present, where Leland is interrogating him, you have opportunity to react to his questions about the action, or to his comments on what unforseen effects those actions had later.

Legit

So if I focus on politics, Skyhold will look like an Orlesian Castle with magnificent balls everyday?

Count me in.

Ah! Yeah I tried to have a look at the app but I don't use Apple products and it wouldn't work (I don't understand iTunes :P)

Some of it sounds promising but I get the distinct impression it won't be quite as grand as it sounds. I liked the concept of how it was done in Awakening and felt like that could be utilized again but improved to it became a bit more involving .

This pretty much. I made the exact same comment in another thread about management. Expanding on the Awakening design is a good idea. It's main problem was that it lacked a way to show us the big picture so we had to guess what happens with limited information. I'm hoping that this will not be a problem in DAI.

What you tell people or don't tell people fleshes out your personality.

It provides the opportunity to see NPC reactions to your reasoning, and probably allows them to debate with your character. Getting other people's opinions on your decisions lets you see them from a different perspective, forces you to argue the merits of your choices, and in doing so you can make additional roleplaying decisions about how they react to criticism, how they argue their case, etc.

You could also retroactively discover additional reasons for your decision-making that you hadn't considered at the time, if, for example, you made a rash or emotionally-driven decision in the moment rather than a carefully calculated one.

Tavern, you say? :D

Thanks for all the new info, OP.

I can already see a "more customizations for Skyhold" DLC and I already know I would buy it. I'm sure I'll spend more time than I care to admit working on getting the decorations just right.

"Laidlaw underlines the value on getting players to look backward rather than simply anticipating the next quest. “Inquisition, moreso than many of our other games, takes a moment to just ask ‘how you feeling?’ and have characters dig into why you did what you did. And to try to understand the Inquisitor’s mind. And they’re some of my favourite moments in the game,” he says."

:D    :)   ^_^

My character could discover such a thing, but I could not.

Okay, I'll reserve judgment until I see the implementation. But if the game tries to revise my character's motives, I will not be happy

"... part of playing Inquisitor means decorating Skyhold manually: everything from the windows, throne, banner, and heraldry to the drapes can be swapped in a menu."

I love the fact we can manually decorate, I'm going to meticulously design every inch of Skyhold.
