It would also be good for the game not to assume that the Inquisitor’s answers are truthful.

I agree to a point. it kind of sucks the fun out of lying if no one ever believes you in the first place, but it is a bit validating when the game attempts to call me out on my deception. I have an, "Oh! So you were actually paying attention then?" moment and get all warm and fuzzy inside.

The NPCs can believe the Inquisitor is truthful. That's fine. I just don't want the state of the world to change based on what I said.

Like if a quest tells me that there are two ways to sneak into a city, and then a companion asks me which I'm going to use. It's fine of the companion's behaviour changes based on what I said. But the other option shouldn't simply cease to exist based on my response.

If I say I support mages, future dialogue events should not hide anti-mage statements. Anything the Inquisitor says might be false.

I hope we can recruits the Avaars...I just want a crazy Inquisition army.

Avaars , Dalish , peasents , city elves ,I'll also take (tal) vashoth , etc...

My army would probably suck but saving Orlais with those people would be hilarious.

Why would increasing your "forces" have any effect on how many potions you can carry? That's stupid.

not really don't forget a person a singel person can only carry so much so the more people you have the more supplies you can carry with you in battle

@Sylvius the Mad:  I'm not sure how you enjoy playing CRPGs.  There's three (sometimes five) out of a nearly infinite array of possible choices of things to say for nearly every dialogue option in nearly every CRPG.

I doubt they're going to force people to - I don't know, love the Chantry, or mages, or whatever with the options.

Leliana:  You burned down the town, how do you feel?

Inquisitor Options:  1)  PRAISE ANDRASTE!

                               2) The Maker wills it.

                               3) I do my duty as a believer in the Maker.

I'm confident the game isn't going to do this.

I mean, my option won't be there.  "I regret it, but at times these things are necessary Leliana.  We did try, after all, to save all we could, but the down had succumb to abominations.  That little girl.  I'll remember that the most though.  As her body twisted and malformed.  Her mouth frozen in a scream made the most horrendous moaning sounds.  Pure pain Leliana.  I'd never heard it before.  I didn't sleep for days after."

Yeah... my dialogue options are never available in a CRPG.  So I guess my expectations are properly aligned.

I'm excited for everything the OP posted from the mag.

"... part of playing Inquisitor means decorating Skyhold manually: everything from the windows, throne, banner, and heraldry to the drapes can be swapped in a menu."

I hope they have a few default designs I can choose from. I don't really enjoy fiddling with decorations.

I certainly hope that if we become mortal enemies of any of our "companions" we can at least throw them in jail to.

This is actually super exciting, it's got a lot of info on the gameplay features I've been wanting to hear about most, so many questions I didn't know I had answered.

I think the world will change fr your actions and pivotal choices, not during a simple conversation with someone, I think it will be more obvious when your have a big decision in front of you

Sylvius the Mad has got a point. Like in the sacred ashes quest. You can tell the guy sure I'll defile the ashes why not. But then you don't have to do it. Even if the game doesn't address this mismatch at all, you can headcanon you lied to him. And if it addresses it, even better.

I wouldn't mind if the options had [Lie] next to the line, like in Tuchanka in ME3. You can pick the option to lie. And even in that case you can choose what to do in the final decision.

"Laidlaw underlines the value on getting players to look backward rather than simply anticipating the next quest. “Inquisition, moreso than many of our other games, takes a moment to just ask ‘how you feeling?’ and have characters dig into why you did what you did. And to try to understand the Inquisitor’s mind. And they’re some of my favourite moments in the game,” he says."

This part of the OP makes me very happy. When you're making tough choices I've always enjoyed being able to explain my motives after the fact and offer a rationale for what I did. Even defuse or ignite companion outrage in the process.

It offers that nice bit of nuance to your character's personality and morality. Two completely different characters can do the same action, but then offer very different reasons. Why you do things often means more than the action itself, so I'm glad this has greater focus in this game.

Thanks to the OP for sharing btw.

Mark mentioned in the PAX Prime demo that they wanted the player's actions, not words, to dictate what is going to happen.  So you can say "I will save the keep" but then go and save the village instead if you want.

I think I'll probably just spend the whole game shootin' the sh*t in my tavern with Varric. Maybe go over to the stable once in a while and pet the ponies.
