I'm not sure if this is a serious thread, but I expect decapitations will be saved for cut-scenes. After DA:O, they had a bunch of people complain that they'd decapitated Leliana and she was still alive. This happened with Loghain and Zevran too, IIRC.

So I'm looking at the new combat vid when I notice Enemy's seem to Explode like Dragon age 2 or Disintegrate from Magic or Burst into ice chunks why is Biowear being so G Rated with the combat? Is it frost Bite that won't let them do Decapitations or is it that They think it's to Hardcore for there audience?
As a member of "there audience", it was a cool but unnecessary addition to the game. I don't think decapitations make a game "to Hardcore".

To hardcore, or not to hardcore. That is the question.
I'm good without decapitations. Hopefully the writing and characterizations will be enough to remind me that the game is "mature."

Do you really need over the top and gory killing blows in order to appreciate the combat system?

Sometimes I'm a bit baffled with what people assume the game needs to be mature. Things like gory kill scenes, fully nude sex scenes and as much gritty, solemn imagery as they can pack in doesn't make the game "mature". That's an average twelve year old boy's concept of maturity.

I think it's probably better not to repeat the situation where you could cut of Zevran's head and then revive him, flirt with him and recruit him two minutes later. (It annoyed me most when it happened with Arl Howe, though. That bastard didn't deserve last words.)
I will admit, though, that the moment when my city elf decapitated Vaughan with her giant sword stands out in my mind as one of the most satisfying in the game.

That's nothing, I blew Loghain up with a walking bomb and he was still alive. He's a witch!

Decapitating people is pretty hard. Even in the ideal circumstances of someone kneeling cooperative with their head on a block.
Doing it mid-battle is kind of silly.
The killing blows in DA:O were good because they had synchronised animations, and because it's better than having the guy just fall over after yet another identical blow, but the decapitations were some of my less favourite ones.

So Dragon age origins was for twelve year olds? and what of the Witcher3 I wouldn't let my twelve year old play that. No need to insult some ones taste because your squeamish lolSometimes I'm a bit baffled with what people assume the game needs to be mature. I'm sure frostbite could handle even better, much more detailed decapitations mid-combat, perhaps even some of them hitting your companions in the face as they flew off of the shoulders of your enemies.
But you know, priorities and all that. I don't think decapitation in-combat was really near the top of the list.

I think what he meant was that maturity doesn't necessarily mean that you fill the game with explicit content. It could mean that you explore mature themes and plot lines, as well as realistic and mature relationships with your companions.

Everytime someone mentions The Witcher in The Dragon Age Inquisition Forum I want to bash my head against the wall.
Can we PLEASE stop comparing the games. The only similarity is that they are fantasy based. THATS IT.
