Tank-Top = Jerk?

Mundane (but serious) question of the day!  ^_^

Be honest. What do you think when you see a muscular guy wearing a tank top in summer?

I've always wondered if its socially acceptable for a muscular guy to wear a sleeveless shirt in summer.

I'm a weight lifter myself and like to wear tank tops simply for comforts sake, but can't shake the feeling that people think I'm a major jerk-show-off with a single-digit IQ.

Is it only appropriate clothing for people with average build?
What about skinny and obese dudes wearing tank tops?

Or is the tank top underwear that should never be worn without at least a shirt covering it?

To answer my own question: in my opinion in hot climates it falls under functional clothing, therefore its perfectly acceptable (in most situations) no matter the person wearing it.

What do you think?

I've never liked tanktops on men or women. I just don't like the style.

I'll only start plotting my revenge if your shoulders are bigger than dinner plates.

It depends on the climate, but if I see a tank-top on a guy here in Colorado, I automatically assume he is a meat-head  and a D-bag. It's just the way the shirt comes off.

No Jerk = Jerk. That being said I can't say I've never judged some guys or gals based on their tank-top. I don't particularly like the style, but it's summer, it's hot outside and I can understand the comfort factor.

I just never understood the point of the shirt, but I also prefer prepy dress. It also has to be semi-loose for my extandable-baton and knives.

Not automaticly. It's mostly how you project yourself. Your body language. Some people give a big douchebag cretin vibe and most of the time it actually true.

Like my new neighbor. Haven't talked to him. But I overheard him and just watching him strut on the sidewalk and talking about ''beotch'' I don't need to talk with him. I already know that guy is probably an ultra douche.

I love tank-tops, usually wear one underneath a sports blazer in summer too. But that's just me, I do modeling and I hate preppy stuff.

Bottom line: Clothing doesn't make you a jerk (unless you're a white guy wearing a snap-back and polo shirt).

What do you get if you combine all 3? Someone from Jersey Shore.

While you may not be a jerk, everyone has encountered that one jerk who ruins the image for everyone else. That's just the way it is.

I never liked the look on a guy. But if you're working out or just at home, then that's fine. I just think it looks kind of sloppy to be wearing that on a regular basis no matter how fit or muscular the guy is. Same with guys wearing basketball shorts just because. I can't stand that look on a guy either.

I actually agree with this, everyone I know who wears a snap-back is a less than ideal human being.

But you could say the same about any piece of clothing.

Skinny jeans are a lot better than baggy jeans that are hung so low you can see more than just the underwear.

You're missing frosted tips and spray tan. Oh and the lobotomy.

If I see a big muscular guy dressed in a skimpy tank top, then I assume that he is from the service and I lead him to my boudoir...where the toilet is severely clogged and needs a good snaking.

Wearing a piece of clothing doesn't make you a swagfag, a jerk, gay, or a gangster.

Tank tops more or less automatically make you look like a douche if you also have build that's anywhere between decent to great.

It's like wearing a dress shirt with enough buttons undone to have dude cleavage.

Or tribal tattoos.

Many people would disagree with you though, which is why I created this thread. I'm not one of them.
