Jumping puzzles are okay, but give me them in the form of a mountain or two I can climb. I know mountains mostly exist to prevent you escaping the map without having to use an invisible wall, but if a game puts them in its scenery it ought to be mandatory to have at least a couple you can reach the top of. And what should be banned is mountains where you can, at great effort, climb 90% of the way to the top, but then discover that's where the invisible wall is.
OMFG We can JUMP!

If it doesn't work party-wide (and while paused), I don't want it.

Its an extremely accurate display of my reaction in real life when finding out I can now jump in Dragon Age instead of getting stuck on a pebble or 1cm ledge
BUT there might be some kind of invisible barrier over said ledge or pebble that would prevent you from jumping over it ![]()

This is why we have obtained horses and jumping.

It's actually very intuitive I think... People just have this perception that it's weird because people "Power Level" instead of just play the game. To be honest, if you focus on the content, your character will level up without you ever having to think about.
Except when it comes to the Attribute modifiers. Again, because people like to min-max, it's a race to get the x5 multipliers out of every level. That is what really breaks Oblivion's leveling system. (Acrobatics and Athletics could be scaled back a bit to level faster though)
Well there's also the fact that if you didn't religiously level up your combat statistics as you went, the awful level scaling would make it so you would get crushed by Ogres and Will-o-wisps and other assorted critters that in some cases totally replaced the weaker one as you went up in level. Or even if they didn't become impossible to kill, they had so much health it took ages to bring them down and made the game even more boring than it already was.
That's of course without going into the whole silliness of bandits running around in priceless Daedric armor or the like. Oblivion's level scaling was just incredibly bad.

Crowd : '' Cricket ''
Mike Laidlaw : You can now ... JUMP OVER IT !!!
Crowd : Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!
In all seriousness lol.. I love that kind of stuff.

no no no
jumping is just more evidence of the dumbing down of RPGs and the overall actionification of games in general
and as such is a bane to all human existence

Now we just need to be able to climb towering enemies and poke the cyclops eyeballs out like Dragon's Dogma!

The jumping seem well done in the game .. Unlike Skyrim . It seem to be working in tandem with the terrain. More like a platformer.

Skyrim has some awful animations too. I remember jumping in third-person thinking my character had a constant bowel problem of constipation.

And a summonable mount accessed through a menu that doesn't pause the action.
