Difficulty: Insanity
Class: Any, the first part of the game needs to be played normally so choose your most comfortable class.
Things to do:
1. Recruit Zaeed and Kasumi but don't do their loyalty missions.
2. Upgrade sniper rifles. That means mining a lot of platinum. Also research tech and biotic upgrades.
3. Do the first four recruitment missions and Horizon as per normal. For maximum cheese, take reave as a bonus power, level it up to area reave and spam it from cover until everything dies. Beware of krogan and YMIR mechs.
4. After Horizon, do missions where you either have to solo (Normandy crash site, crashed ship), fight in Hammerhead, and/or Kasumi's loyalty mission. After doing five of these, do the collector ship mission.
5. Immediately finish the reaper IFF mission to recruit Legion.
6. Research his Widow. Level his geth assassin passive for maximum weapon damage.
7. Do enough short assignments until Legion's loyalty mission is unlocked. Finish that to unlock geth shield boost, and level it up for weapon damage boost. Research geth shield strength.
8. Finish Grunt's loyalty mission to unlock fortification. Use him to get squad incendiary ammo if your class doesn't have an ammo power.
9. DONE!!!
"Strategy":
1. Use advanced training to learn reave for organic enemies and energy drain for geth.
2. If you're on a mission where you can only choose one squadmate, bring Legion. Otherwise take Grunt.
3. Watch as Legion destroys everything with the Widow while tanking everything by spamming geth shield boost every 6.6 seconds. Help him out by spamming reave or energy drain from cover. Grunt, if he's around, is a good distraction to keep the heat off Legion, but with a 12 second fortification I found that the robot has better survivability. Bring Zaeed for geth missions to increase Legion's dps, but he dies often without supervision, and this is supposed to be a brainless tactic anyways. For absolute maximum cheese, use the sentinel's tech armor to cancel geth shield boost's cooldown to make him totally indestructible.
By getting Legion early, there is a decent number of combat missions you can use this strategy for: 8 loyalty missions, 3 recruitment missions, overlord, shadow broker, and the suicide mission. I know this is the lamest and least efficient way to beat this game, but I tried it for the lulz for all the above missions and I never died. This strategy is contingent on the player being able to make it all the way to the reaper IFF mission on their own ability, but after that it's amusing to watch the game play itself.
