Thanks. :) Now that you mention it, I think I have some vague recollection of that conversation.

I'd much rather not have it happen.

I don't know why, but I bet the "end in drama" will be a romance for straight female  (pun totally intended :P )

Well, I feel bad for those that romanced any companion that big in the books as their LI kinda abandoned them to have fun in the Novels. Such as Isabela and Alistair.

I honestly hate Sad/Bittersweet/Doomed/Tragic romance endings in anything , I prefer the sappy / cliche happy ending.

The world is full of dark, horrible things and tough choices. I want (the) romance (of my choice) to be one area the Inquisitor can find peace and happiness. A shelter in the storm, if you will. No unavoidable tragedy!

Most likely, yes.  Just a hunch.  Something about Cassandra makes me think it won't turn out well in the end.

The only happily ever after romances done by Bioware are some of the BG2 romances (Aerie, Jaheria, Anomen) and the Jade Empire. Bear in mind if Jade Empire ever gets a sequel, there's enough ammo for Gaider and co. to rain on that parade ;)

a (not) small part of me would kinda like if she dump the male Inquisitor and marry another man at almost the end of the game just because he is not of the right class/race.  for variety.

Personally I feel more satisfied characters that I like / romanced getting "screen time" in other media and doing something important and not just clinging to my player characters side who may doing God knows what.

So those who romance her as a human warrior/rogue wouldn't be of the right race/class?

I do am intriqued then what her idea of the right class/race is ;)

I don't expect things to go one hundred percent positive - at the end of the day, if they haven't left us emotionally scarred for life, then I think they cut the writer's paycheck or something. (I kid.) But I think they do understand that, given the level of investment we put into these characters, into these games, that if there's not something that could make the player content with where the romance leaves off, then they've made a mistake, because we care about them and want to at least have the room to imagine a happily ever after, even if there's still hardship on the horizon.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if there's an option of things ending bloody for the romance - after all, female Wardens could end up watching Alistair die against the archdemon because he wouldn't let them sacrifice themselves, a Warden who doesn't take Morrigan's ritual can sacrifice themselves, and Hawke can choose to kill Anders after the Chantry goes boom. Precedent says that at least one romance is likely to end with at least one party dead by the end of the game.

As long as at least one LI has a happy ending I'm good.

I mean I don't want all my characters to be doomed to angstville. =/

mage elf and mage qunari. it would be both the example mages are at peace with the Chantry and with those races. Dwarf to streghten the alliance with the merchant guild.  ;)

I know it will never happen. straight male romances are always indestructible, for some reason (even Morrigan, leave the Warden but don't break up with him) and I have my doubt there will be any restriction for the most common race/class. but it would be funny for once not be always the straight female player be the one penalized in romance.

So just to get this straight. You're saying that you hope Cassandra will dump a human inquisitor who romanced her, so that she can marry an elf or qunari or maybe a dwarf?

Or am I completely wrong?

I don't "hope" anything. I was just teasing. since in DAO a non Human Noble female character if Alistair is put on the throne have to be almost surgically careful to not be dumped, (and becaming a mistress is not that great for me...is...denigrating) to break the trend a (sadistic and resentful) little part of me would like a more "injust" romance path for straight males romances too.

since straight females have already suffered quite a lot already in the romance departmant (Alistair, Anders, bugged Zevran, Thane, Jacob, Joker, Vega) it would be just right if a romance have to end in a sour note, that this time is for straight males one. U_U

Wait, what?  I don't remember this at all!   When was Isabela in a book?

They actually mean the comics, not the books.

I see.

But the difference would be that it wouldn't make sense for Cassandra to dump a human for an elf/dwarf/qunari, if its for political gain. It made sense for Alistair to dump an elf or dwarven warden.

I know it wasn't fun for those that romanced him. But it was a logical decision.

Also, I don't see the logic in that we should have to suffer for once because straight female got sour romances. Its not our fault.

Just pointing that out.

it would be logical than having, this time around, a similar situation for straight males too. U_U

and by the way, it wasn't very logical in DAO, thinking about it. it was gratuitous "drama".

Alistair was King. Kings cand decide to do what they wish. since the Warden was a hero, not a common Elf/Dwarf/Mage, if she was ok to be harl of Amarantine (becaming a noble, in little words) it would have been right for a King Alistair to decide to marry the hero of Ferelden. not just a Elf/Dwarf/Mage. the Hero.of.Fereldden. title that seem to be important in avery palce but not with the people she became crazy to help...yeah.  <_<

but what I'm condemning is more the fact that only men are unfaithful or on the "drama boat" and much more easy to leave the female protagonist. is a trend I would like to see broken. -_-

Wait, it's canon that Alistair breaks up with the Warden if he's made king and the Warden is an Elf/Dwarf/Mage?

wouldn't mind a sad romance outcome

as long as said outcome's the result of the player's choices And one of the Possible outcomes.

if you hardened him in his personal quest (you have to choose the right answer and be very careful) the Elf/Mage/Dwarf Warden can became his mistress. while he is married to Anora, if they are both on the throne.  -_-

But he dumps you if he's the sole ruler?
Huh.  That is not cool.

Tell you what.  For my first playthrough in Dragon Age Inquisition-just for you-I'll have him be executed in my imported world state for my qunari rogue.
