I just bought NWN 2 from GOG.com and I'm excited to play it. I've been looking over the forums and was wondering if any of you have some newbie advice that would help me get started on the right foot. Mods, patches, game modes, what I can expect etc. any type of good information that will help a new player out is appreciated. Thank you!

When I started playing again this summer I was pleasantly surprised to find a helpfull guide for new players hosted by the Baldur's Gate persistent world.

It recommends a number of texture upgrades that I really like. I recommend them to you

 

That guide also mentions the Client extension by Skywing. I would also recommend that to you. In my experience it makes the game stabler and it adds a few neat features.

 

Apart from that It may be a good idea to take a minute to configure the controls and camera settings so that its all to your liking. And to see about managing your party members directly instead of relying on AI. The AI is always a poor substitute for informed human decisions. Depends on your preference!

You should read the thread here: <http://forum.bioware...rom-old-forums/>. Finding some of the community content may be a bit difficult these days though.
