All 3. Why limit myself? The best military groups out there are the ones who balance military might with diplomacy mixed with some subtle espionage. Only less competent groups focus on just one attribute.

I'm trying not to preplan my game, because I don't want to miss things by sticking to my plan.  I'll probably use Cullen less though, I love Leliana, and really like Josephine so far.  Never was a fan of Cullen in the other games though

Depends on the character I'm playing. Hayden will probably stick to espionage more often than not, and Meraad will likely favor military. The others will seek more of a balance between espionage and diplomacy, though it depends a lot on context.

Whichever gives the best/smartest options.

I don't know enough about how the dynamics work to judge which I'll favor, right now.  I can see the perks of all three, but it likely depends on which "opposing" faction we're talking about.  I'd be more likely to use diplomacy with Templars and nobles than I would with mages(who'll probably get the sword on my first playthrough) and elves(who'll probably be spied upon to see if they get the sword, again, on my first playthrough).

All that said, I might love Josephine so much that I go diplomacy with everyone, just to make her say nice things to me...

Why limit yourself lol, find a balance between the three.

Some of my further playthroughs will have Inquisitors who will have preferences, and possibly show favor to one branch over another. But as my first/main Inquisitor, I'm not playing any favorites.

Probably just go with whichever one give me the equipment or weapon that appeals to me the most.  Unless there is an option to make them of the Qun!

No offense to savitar, but there're like 20 of these threads floating around. A mod should merge them and sticky.

Why limit yourself? you cannot expect one to solve everything without leaving dire consequence in the future, a combination of three that suit the situation are the best and flawless.

Depends on if it actually affects the story and perhaps character conversations and such. For example if by increasing your military strength you get more Cullen conversations then I will do it like that. Then espionage/trade for another playthrough. If there aren't any noticeable differences there, then I'll just pick what suits my playstyle best at the time.

I'd need to see the full list of associated "perks" before I commit to anything.  Sounds like they might have a big impact.

If there is one thing you can learn from history its best to stay flexible. I'll do whatever is necessary in the current situation.

I'll support all three, but if I had to choose one I'd say Diplomacy.

it likely depends on the circumstances in the game.     If I am in quasi-friendly territory, then likely diplomatic.    If its an outpost on the border of Qunari lands, then HIGHLY militaristic.   Will likely choose the best option I feel fits the situation that area is likely to need.

I want to say Diplomacy, but that makes me think of the sort of things I would expect from a 4x game.  It's hard to say what mechanics it is actually going to influence in DAI.  Unless I missed some meaningful info dump on it.

Impossible to say without knowing if you can combine the 3 successfully or if you only get the best advantages by going one way or the other exclusively. I hope we can mix and match and still get the most points / the most power. Overall I believe me Inquisitor will go Military and Diplomacy. He might want to use some Espionage from time to time though.

Military: 50%

Diplomacy: 40%

Espionage: 10%

I often dislike the direct approach so mine would be focused on espionage and diplomacy.

Since military seems to increase the number of potions we carry, I guess I have to focus on that  :P

Limiting yourself to one end of the spectrum will hardly be ideal for you, but if we really had to choose one, I'd go with diplomacy.

Diplomacy? Why? It's very simple, submit or the fade tears on your land stay open and you die.  Bend the knee or the demons eat you.

Well if one intends to simply hack themselves through everything that stands in their way, that won't end well for anyone.
