If I can mix most likely that. It would probably depend on the character and my personality though. I could totally see myself as being a complete hothead who's at times irrational and thinks the only course of action s is to use brute force to get it done.
Of the three types what will your inquisition mainly be miltary, diplomatic, or espionage

Military.
I'll be a freaking Qunari Mage.
There is no diplomacy in the Qun.
This. It will be hard to refrain blasting everything and everyone to pieces, when backed by an army.

A mix I think!
This is what I think I'll go with too, but I'll probably meta a ratio out of it depending on character. I feel like to be an effective regional power, the group has to have some clout on all fronts.

Depends what they do? I know we need forces to send out to do stuff to open new areas (close off gas vents and such) but are those only available if you have a military keep in the area? Or can you do that even with a diplomatic one or a spy one?

I really want to play all diplomatic but I'm afraid that will gimp my game. I hope before it comes out they'll give a little more information about the effect switching up your keeps or going all one way has.

My cannon playthrough will probably be a mix of diplomatic and espionage - probably only resorting to military if I'm in a bad mood, the npc's in the game really pissed me off, or if I decide to romance Cullen and think it will increase my chances with him.
After that I'll probably use that as a theme to help separate all my playthroughs - do an all military one, all diplomatic, and all espionage one.

Diplomacy for people who greet me with invitations to talk.
Espionage for people who seem too busy to take notice of the Inquisition or have ulterior motives.
Military for people who threaten the stability of our land.

I hope the game doesn't hamstring you into going fully into any category. I hope balance between the three can be had. Perhaps there are bonuses depending on sites and bonuses depending on what you choose in other lands.

Most of the time I'll probably be diplomatic, with a bit of espionage and military action when it's called for to drive my advantage. If pushed, I'll go in and break everyone's faces.

If I could actually solve many of the major scenarios diplomatically instead of wholesale slaughter I would find this to be one of the most groundbreaking video games of 2014.
Forcing me to be a mass murderer simply because video games have never had the courage to grow up has been one of my biggest gripes with CRPGs.

A balance is likely first time around. Though I'll probably focus more on military and diplomacy.
Subsequent class playthroughs will probably influence how I go about my business. A rogue being naturally inclined to engage in some espionage for instance.

to start of i think ill make mine focused on espionage to trade in secrets and intrigue
Hm...
I'll mix (jack of all traits
- maybe I will go one way or the other in the follow up runs...I just don't like not having the spy option or the military option (or the diplomatic way)...I want all paths to be open to me (over reliance on one seems not to be a good idea...like being diplomatic only but not being able to back it up (if you threaten someone) with military strength or an assassination or two if you really have to...and how can you make a credible threat, if you don't know the vulnerabilities of the enemy (or the military strength to back it, as already mentioned)?)

Since my Inquisitor and party will be doing all the real fight, and taking keeps, rescuing keeps for my troops i think military will be very useless. I will focus on espionage, and diplomacy

Diplomacy will get us Military might eventually.
Espionage is another way of dealing with armies by targeting their leaders.
Military Might is nice, but probably the least useful. After all, only our Inquisitor can close the Rifts.

I'm a bit nervous, because I was planning to romance Cullen with a noble human mage with more diplomatic leanings, but I certainly don't want to miss out on Cullen's content by not choosing his faction when available!

Depends on who I'm facing. I'll be diplomatic most of the time, but I will use force (military) if you brush me off. "I'm too busy to save people from demons," is a dumb excuse.

Mainly espionage. Diplomacy will play its role too.

The thing is that during the darkages the inquisition was formed to Hunt down heretics and vanquish enemies of the Church, but it was Also a way for the Church to demonstrate and spread its power, like a secret police making people dissappear, and so on.
So the thing i wonder if that is what Bioware has taking into account, no mattor how you rule the inquisition that is what people Will percieve you, a terror organisation.
That would be true, if you were part of the chantry (people will - or at least should - still see you as exactly that (hell, many members we know are former chantry: Leliana, Cassandra, Cullen, Josephine (by association - she is recruited by Leliana after all and a noble, they all have chantry ties - you have to have them in DA, like it was in RL in earlier times - still partly is today (!), otherwise you will suffer for it (as a noble...they might accuse you of heresy or have you killed (Leliana, how many did you "take care of"?) etc.), but I would guess it is up to you to prove them wrong (or right, if you wish!)

If we are expected to be self sufficient then I guess we need a military force. It really depends on how the organization fits in the big picture, what the end game is and if our focus affects it in any way.
I'm picturing the inquisition mainly as an intelligence and logistics agency that operates with special operation squads and works behind the scenes. But we've seen that we are expected to control areas and protect etc with various implications.
