Interesting. I never thought of it like that. I suppose all three, but on multiple playthroughs, since I intend to continue with all my canon playthroughs (4).

It will probably be determined by the class of my Quisitor. Espionage for rogue, military for warrior and diplomacy for mage. Maybe a combination for the last game, mostly based on the character's alignment (of which, I don't know yet).

"Apply your strength to your enemy's weakness."

What army can do that without intelligence agents?

And how are you going to feed them?

Only the proper mix of Military, Diplomacy and Espionage will win.  And still have a world left afterwords.

Diplomacy for the most part.

Diplomatic. Unless they don't surrender to my terms. Then it's military time.

Honestly, at this point, that's an unnecessary question to ask. The various situations in the game will show us which approach will be the best. Most likely we will need to make use of all the types to be successful.

All three definitely. Probably diplomacy the most, espionage second and military the least.

It honestly just depends  on the situation, i expect to favour diplomacy and espionage over pure brute force military though. Other playthroughs i might specialize.

All 3 if possible with a slight military edge.

Hard to say, but I plan on agreeing with Cullen a lot.

Having said that should Josie and my inq hit it romantically, very likely Josie would be the decider.

Above all I'll do anything to ensure Leliana does not die.

Diplomatic. My Inquisition is going to be a classy one.

I'll base it around my character class.
Although a militiristic rogue could be interesting. And backstabs for all...

In games where I have these sorts of options, I usually focus on Trade, mainly so I can just buy a great military. Since this is not exactly a war game per se, I will have to feel out the system a bit. My first play through will likely be focused on military, at least initially, but I really want to get a feel for how the mechanic affects the game.

All 3. Why limit myself? The best military groups out there are the ones who balance military might with diplomacy mixed with some subtle espionage. Only less competent groups focus on just one attribute.

Definitely agreed.

At least on my first playthrough I'll be romancing Josephine, so I imagine I'll do things her way quite a bit, but I will try to balance it depending on the situation.

Cullen: "The enemy's defense is weak. I say we attack them head-on."

Inquisitor: "Good idea! We'll--"

Josephine: "ahem"

Inquisitor: "Er, uh, that's an awful idea, Cullen. Wow you're such an idiot. We'll take the diplomatic route and try to talk the enemy down!"

Cullen: "There's a dragon attacking multiple villages. We need to kill it."

Inquisitor: "That seems very plausible, Cullen. I'll gather a team, and we'll--"

Josephine: *death stare*

Inquisitor: "--talk it down! Yes, we will try to befriend the beast! With the power of diplomacy! For the Inquisition!"

Cullen: "Our enemies are attacking the keep and killing everyone. We need to fight back."

Inquisitor: "We have no other choice. We must--"

Josephine: *whistles*

Inquisitor: "Sing! We shall sing! And with the power of our beautiful voices, we will move our enemies emotionally and turn them good! For the Inquisition!"
