I opened this thread in the hopes of seeing some "a man walked into a bar" style jokes.

Now that I'm actually paying attention, I think the circumstances are probably a bit different. Short of a large plot twist our Inquisitor probably wasn't trying to invade the golden city, so I think fear, suspicion and incidental glowing are our most pressing concerns :)

Plot twist: you are corypheus.

Cons: Nonsense ending full of rage

Pros: That absolute bullshit spinning flame spell and rock summoning ability.

Sounds win win to me!  Bring No John, you are the Fade on!

It sets up the game for you being the only one capable in sealing the rifts and potentially has some plot twist down the road. "With great power comes great responsibility / consequences" type thing or something similar.

i'm sure they'll explain it well in Inquisitions prologue. simply say, that its all magic and we are gonna use magic to fix everything.

It means that nobody likes the Inquisitor. Even the Fade threw him/her out.

They could probably earn some brownie points if they just used the Planescape: Torment ending :P

Spoiler

Truthfully, I think it may just be a figure of speech. I think it is just a more poetic way of saying that the inquisitor was the only one alive after the blast, so it looks like they just appeared.

I can't help but feel that they're gonna go with "You're a demon who possessed someone and thinks they're human/whatever."
And Cole is in the game to make people used to the idea, so that when it happens, it makes sense. Same way memory loss was mentioned in KOTOR, so the twist didn't seen implausible.

Technically, the second time we are privy to is when the Warden-Commander and the First entered the Beyond because of a darkspawn device concocted by the Mother, and the Commander of the Grey exited the Beyond because of the Baroness. It's possible there won't be any physical ramifications because of this exit, aside from what's happened to the protagonist; I'm thinking the chain reaction will be more along the lines of how everyone responds to the main character surviving a catalysm at a holy site.

That would be awesome! Why would anyone not like that?

I am serious. That would be a legitimately probable and dramatic Twist, even if some People have predicted it.

You actually died. The "you" appearing from the fade is actually a possessed version, you just dont know it yet.

Not really. Once the party escaped from the Spirit Blackmarsh, they woke up in the same place they entered it. Meaning that it was a dream all along, like the Fade quest in the Circle in DA:O.

Walking physically into the Fade is serious business, one of the limits of magic according to WoT, and this would be the second recorded time it happens. The first time required the blood of hundreds of slaves and two thirds of the lyrium available in the Tevinter Imperium.

Interestingly enough, the Temple of the Sacred Ashes is full of lyrium (according to Oghren) and the trailer says that thousands died in the blast. What if the Breach was not the only intended goal? What if someone in the meeting actually performed a Fade-walk, and the Inquisitor just happened to tag along without noticing it?

It's one of the most common theories so far, yes. In fact, some people tried to guess the spirit too. It's curious that WoT singled out the spirits of Hope as the strongest benevolent spirits in the Fade.

This is what my Inquisitor has to say about it lol

Whatever I am, the world will bow before me or the death and destruction caused will be unlike any "Exalted March" of the past

Actually, a mage enters the fade during the Arl of Redcliffe quest, in order to battle the demon possessing Conner, if that is the choice you make.

Enters with his or her mind, as in the Circle quest. The body never leaves the material plane, as far as we know. What Cassandra was implying in the trailer was that the Inquisitor literally "walked out of the Fade".

That's different the mage that went into the fade only entered with his or her mind. That's how all mages enter the fade, with their minds. There bodies stay right where they are. Play the opening of Ostagar in DAO you see mages doing magic BS and Templars making sure no one disturbs them. That is what mages do all the time.

We're talking about someone's physical body entering the Fade which to our knowledge has only ever happened once with the Magisters.

That doesn't make any sense - we all enter the Fade when we dream...why would that require a bunch of lyrium and mages (or blood & one mage)? I'm pretty sure Irving mentions sending a mage physically into the Fade to battle the demon there..but I could be wrong.  :P

Also, the blight was caused by the magisters entering the Golden (or Blackened if you believe Corphyeus) City...not the entering of the Fade itself.

I'm more under the impression that the Fade ate them and then spat them back out because of plot indigestion.

I am guessing that this is probably an advance method from what the ancient magisters did.

You got:
1. A mountain full of lyrium
2. Thousands of sacrifice (some of whome where mages and elves)
3. A site that probably had a weakened veil + where a high dragons rested

Was this part of Flemeths plan? Can the inquisitor open and close the veil tears or can he just close them?
