I'm more under the impression that the Fade ate them and then spat them back out because of plot indigestion.

The Inquisitor is Boba Fett, Thedas is a Star Wars planet and Dragon Age: Inquisition ties directly into Star Wars Episode VII! You read it here first, folks!

On topic: I don't think there will be any sort of chain reaction other then the Inquisitor sealing the Fade breaches. I would like it if the game gave a possible explanation as to how the Inquisitor crossed through, but left it ambiguous so that it could also be interpreted as an intervention of sorts by the Maker.

If all this speculation is true. It would be the most transparent plot twist ever.

I am guessing that this is probably an advance method from what the ancient magisters did.

You got:
1. A mountain full of lyrium

...So they did it on the mountain where the temple of sacred ashes is?

I don't think there's going to be any chain reaction , afterall the Magisters caused the Blight because they went to the Golden City.

Possible nothing bad would have happened if they simply didn't touch anything.

About the Inquisitor , I mostly wonder why , he/she is the only survivor and how he/she got pulled into the fade.

The lyrium + all the death probably tear the veil ...but I don't remember anything saying you can simply use a fade tear as a door .

Also the Inquisitor got something stuck in his/her hand. How did that happened? And it can close the fade tear. How conveniant.

There's too much going on for this to be simple coincidence.

The Inquisitor "walking out" of the Fade but then shown on their hands and knees makes sense if on returning to the material world you feel disorientated or alternatively you are a spirit and it all feels a bit odd.    None of the other visits to the Fade were in a physical sense other than the Magisters and they didn't feel too good on returning!    I don't think Blackmarsh was a physical visit although we did have to be in the Fade in order to close the Fade tears.    That suggests that normally you can only close them from the Fade side and that is why we have been given a piece of the Fade to carry around with us so we can close them from this side.   Of course Karl said that Justice inside Anders was like a little piece of the Fade being carried around but there is no evidence (as yet) that Cole, who we know is a spirit, can close the Fade tears so it does seem more than just a spirit living inside a body and something that something/someone in the Fade put into you.    In a way the Inquisitor is lucky.  Instead of getting the taint, they got the green glowy Fade healing hand.

I sort of get the feeling that the main character will be seen as favoured by the Maker, If so I wish to take full advantage :P

I wonder if the Inquisitor's ability will be something similar to Elizabeth's tear manipulation ability in BioShock Infinite. Of course without all that multiverse jazz.

Whatever they come up with, I just hope they don't pull out another "you are a spirit and believe to be a mortal" or "you've been possessed and ressurected"... like, please, I like my characters as simple mortal beings.

Interestingly enough, the Temple of the Sacred Ashes is full of lyrium (according to Oghren) and the trailer says that thousands died in the blast. What if the Breach was not the only intended goal? What if someone in the meeting actually performed a Fade-walk, and the Inquisitor just happened to tag along without noticing it?

Or you engineered the whole catastrophe and are just amnesic about it (like in Bioshock). ;)

But did he simply walk in?

*Insert Boromir meme here*

It'll be even more significant for my male mage Inquisitor. Magic and mages will be a significant plot in Inquisition I reckon you know with the Veil sundered and demons everywhere. A mage leading the Inquisition will be especially interesting in a political sense.

Given that creatures that don't have physical bodies are physically leaving the fade and coming into the material world en masse, I think the requirements of doing the reverse have dropped significantly.

@Ghostjs: OMG, I hope not! I hated the Torment ending!!! It's the only game I've got that I've never, ever even been tempted to replay...
