Haven't actually done the HFI on London yet, but I think I already know how I am going to approach that one.

The Volus Adept is my least favorite character in the entire game though.  So I am trying to get a jump on Ariake in the mean time.

I was thinking of running a build like this 6/6/6/5/3 setup I was messing with on the character builder.

But since the enemy is Reapers, I am not entirely sure how much Bubble Stasis is really going to be needed.  I could trade that out for full Fitness which gives another 200 barrier.

Then there is the last rank of Orbs... Expose seems like it makes sense since your weapons are pretty light and weak.

Ammo choice is one thing that I haven't settled on.  I suppose default would be Warp since it is on a biotic, but Incendiary might be worth a look.  I am not sure how bad that would be against Banshees though.

Any tips?  Other than make sure to go to the bathroom before you start. ;)

I skipped stasis, because Reapers use a lot of armor. This also benefits health and weapon damage. You´re surely going to need it :)

I used 4a and 6a on biotic orbs for extra damage. Imo incedinary is the better choice against Reapers. It should kill Ravagers and Brutes faster. Then you could go for fire explosion. Incedinary prevents barriers to recharge a little bit longer, I think.

Used survivor loadout as well, since it´s 10 WS.

Incendiary does prevent barrier regen, basically as long as the DOT is active, which should be 6s since the last shot.

Sadly no interaction between IA and Orbs. ;)

If you aren't using stasis much, you aren't getting as much benefit from warp ammo, since he can't prime the enemy for a BE without it.

Using IA instead of warp ammo might make sense, especially since you could get some FE's from the orbs you're throwing at the rippaz that way.

But I don't solo on gold, so bear that in mind.

I went with a no-fitness build, which is what I run on all the volus.

Bubble stasis might not be be the best choice but I didn't bother respeccing for one solo. I was using shield boost or using heavy melee every time I ate some bullets, so no-fitness didn't bother me much. That, and I equipped a cyclonic IV.

As for orbs, expose is definitely the better choice here. Expose helps a lot with brutes and ravagers. And I prefer incendiary ammo because of the DoT and the occasional FEs on ravagers and brutes. (I got some BEs on husks, cannibals and marauders with orbs too).

Max weapon damage in passives.

As for banshees, use a clean up nuke to take out the double banshees on 5,8 and 9. Focus on ravagers and brutes, and nuke the double banshees towards the end of the wave. Taking them out with scimitar is painful and is not worth it.

I think I had 3-4 attempts before getting it done because I quit on targets objectives twice and I got downed once or twice.

^how about 36656?
If you don't want barrier to mess with your cooldowns, leave it off for the most part. Turn it on and immediately detonate it when a phantom gets into melee range.

I just used my barrier detonate build, but played it more straight Claymore.  It is 5/6/6/5/4.  I don't remember if I used a CM3 or 4 to make up for the shields.

Anyway what TNS said would work, or even 4/6/6/6/4.  Or since the requirement is 3 medals which basically means you can roll straight up with Headshots, Kills, Shotgun kills, you could skip Shockwave, Barrier for DR, full fitness, and then Warp->Either, Expose, Pierce with SG HVB and Incendiary.

I tried to deal with Phantoms with a combination of barrier detonate, backhand, and Claymore.  The first two should mean she drops out of DR because she is staggered.  However, sometimes she doesn't quite obey the rules and will sync kill you (which is how I ended a few attempts...).

I never made it past wave 6 cause whenever I would get to the objective, a phantom would be in my blind spot and shank me. :( Effed up part is, on all those attempts, I had 5 waves survived. I think I used my BE build, it's been a while so I don't quite remember off the top of my head. Anyway, I can't offer any advice other than what has been said already for the Ariake challenge.

So if you want to try it again, maybe something like this:

http://kalence.drupa...13..3364!EF.AGG

This is full DR, full fitness, but with Adrenaline III.  Krogan have good running speed, but the walking speed is a little ponderous, and this might help you side-step the Phantoms if you don't want to try Barrier detonate.

Theoretically you could shoot with the Claymore, and if she flips hit her with Warp, then try to bait her close, use HM then Shockwave.  Lot of tricks, but it is hard to just tell someone how they might approach it.
