So... I've just completed the Geth Dreadnought mission, although I may replay it. I found Liara to be an uninspiring choice as a squadmate for Shep and Tali. All she said were a couple catty lines about NerveStim Pro upgrades that Tali purchased. Think I'll replay and take James instead.

Anyway, my question is: Can I do as many missions as I want, after completing the Dreadnought mission, before continuing things on Rannoch... Or is there a mission timer for Koris and the geth fighters?

I think Tuchanka: Bomb is the only mission in the game which is on a timer. For others, you have to do mission X before mission Y - Grissom Academy before Sur'Kesh, for example.

Cool, because I kinda have a lot to do suddenly. I'd like to clear up some of my 'to do' list before progressing the plot, including getting Javik.

I just found out about that one, heh. But it was too late; I'd already been to Utukku. Damn. Next time.

Look up a guide online, it will tell you which missions to do in what order for the best effect.

Liara is always an uninspiring squadmate. If you think Liara acts catty toward Tali, you should romance, dump, and bring Ashley along next time.

Garrus is the best choice for the Dreadnought mission IMO.

Rescuing the Turian Platoon and Turian bomb are timed. If you do the rachni and don't rescue the Turians before talking with the Asari councilor, the bomb goes boom, otherwise you can do whatever mission's you choose. Of course Grissom has to be done before the Citadel coup.

I would recommend doing the Geth Consensus mission before anything else since it will give you 2 decent upgrades without the need for any fighting. I usually do Dreadnaught - Consensus - Citadel.

Not exactly.

Turian Bomb is timed, but Turian Platoon isn't. In other words - the Turians are perfectly happy to wait months for you to come and rescue them, but the moment you arrive, Cerberus sets up the bomb.

I regularly save this pair of missions so that I can take the VS on it. The call back to Virmire is quite nice.

I have saved the platoon and bomb after I did the Geth/Quarian war, but when I wanted to do it after seeing the Asari councilor, I got a message, back on the Normandy, the bomb went boom even though no one knew about it.

Huh, odd. I'm pretty sure that I've finished the entire game without doing the mission, but I don't recall such a message.

I distinctly remember talking with Victus in London and him not even mentioning his son. Though I don't remember if Wrex then made reference to Eve being alive. I was in a rush on that playthrough - maybe I just missed it.

Huh. Never knew that. I guess I always did that mission before talking to the Asari counsellor.

Poor choice of wording on my part. I should clarify that I got an email from Wreav about a bomb exploding on Tuchanka. I have never did this with Wrex and I  don't believe Victus will ever mention his son in London, though I haven't talked with him everytime I'm in London.

I will say this. It has made me start another playthrough doing this, since its been quite awhile since I did it

Nah, when it comes to ME inquiries, this is my favorite knowledge base on the internet.  :D

I've always taken Garrus on this mission in the past... finally decided on Kaidan this time. He and Tali geeked out over their omni-tools. It was good.

True that, I'd forgotten about those. Damn that Legion, he's so manipulative.

One of my threads inspired another playthrough, my work here is done.  :P

Thanks for the tips everyone. Every other time I've played, I've always done all the other missions I could before the Rannoch arch, except for Leviathan on occasion. This time I went straight to the Dreadnought from the citadel coup. Haven't even picked up Javik yet.

I've never taken Liara on the Dreadnought, I believe. It seems that a lot of female characters have awkward or bad conversations with one another in ME3. Ashley and Femshep for example.

EDIT: There is no timer for Koris, since I procrastinate the most during the Rannoch arc.

I've taken Liara and James on the dreadnought mission with the two of them discussing slavery vs death.

The Bomb goes off with Priority:Thessia, I believe.

You can do the Turuan Platoon/bomb thing after Rannoch (in fact I recommend it if you have Ash and Tali, as tehy have a cool intercom conversation afterwards) , but once you start Thessia...boom.

There are no timers for Rannoch, save doing the side missions before the Priority part.  Heck I left Koris stranded on Rannoch to go on a date with Ash on the Citadel ;)

I have done it after solving the Geth?Quarian missions. Not sure who went with Shepard on the mission.

I'm about to do a playthrough to do just that to see if it was after talking with the councilor or completing Thessia that I got the email from Wreav. As I said in another post its been quite awhile since doing a playthrough like that.

And yes I've done the same as you by leaving Koris to talk with Ashley on the Citadel

Ash didn't survive Virmire in this playthrough, I'll have to try that next time.

Huh. Most people seem to be doing their loads-and-loads of side missions during the Rannoch Arc? I usually do them just after, with the reasoning that the Asari Councillor takes slightly longer than shown on screen to decide to tell Shepard about "The Big Secret". (Either that, or Shepard likes to keep Tevos waiting.) Rannoch works quite well for me if I do the whole thing in one go.
