yeah it does suck knowing that the collectors are protheans before the game even comes out...

Actually...I had a funny feeling this might be the case...I figured they were either A.) The protheans themselves seeing as how they kept how they looked in the first game pretty much secret. or B.) A race that existed at the same time as the protheans and were closely related to them. So, TBH...wasnt a big shock to learn this...I kinda knew in my gut lol.
