Jack Wall’s excellent soundtracks for Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 (especially Mass Effect 2) are two of the best game soundtracks ever composed. The blend of beautiful electronic synths, deep drums and profound brass instruments harmonizes outstandingly with the story, setting and visuals of Mass Effect, defining the distinctive and immersive aesthetic of this universe.
you might wanna rephrase the thread title, might mislead some overzealous people into thinking it's an official confirmation of sorts........and they'll hurt you.
Mass Effect 2 dropped the ball in the soundtrack department. The only good song was the suicide mission while the night club music was shamelessly copied from other games.
I would love for ME1's music to come back, so much atmosphere, humming every tune while I fighted or wandered around.
Jack Wall was great! But in my opinion, Mass Effect 3 had the strongest soundtrack. And with that being said, I would not mind moving on to new composers.

Such Vangelis, so blade runner, wow!
not true, ME2 had great atmospheric tracks. the Dantius towers was great, Kasumi's theme, the Collectors' theme variations, Arrival's score was spot-on, the Derelict Reaper n so on. as for the nightclub music, that would only bother the people that have played those other games. I hadn't played the other game and I was perfectly happy with Afterlife's music.
Guys, I was using it as possible (but currently weak) evidence that Jack Wall is involved. Chill. And I don't appreciate the rudeness at me trying to be helpful.
I think BW will mix some of the old composers (like Jack Wall & Sam Hulick) with a new one. Daft Punk would be a great choice f.e. (just listen to the Tron Legacy soundtrack).
I just hope it's not so morose as some of the music ingame so far. The sounds of ME music didn't really thrill me much, well, most of'em. I know, melancholia but still, that did fit, but not to affect the user. I was in the scene than heard the "music"... kind of. I never did (again) turn on the player in sheps cabin..lol.

Nowhere near close the atmosphere in the first one. Too much aggresive orchestral music.
That is to be expected though, having only 1 person doing the soundtrack this time. ME1 had both jack wall and sam hulick. ME3 had... too many.
You can hum this song, it will stick in your brain and will give rhythm and atmosphere to anything you're doing.
I'm not saying ME2's soundtrack was awful by any means, just below ME1 and ME3.
Jack and Sam are awesome however I wouldn't mind someone new to add an element of freshness combined of course with the expertise of these two great composers.
I always thought Solar Fields would be a great composer for ME franchise. I leave some of his tracks to give an idea. He also did the soundtrack for the first Mirror's Edge
I would love too see the likes of Jasper Kid or even better the likes of Jon Hallur Haraldsson(the Eve Online composer, amongst other things)work on the ME4 soundtrack. I think his kinda sound/atmospheric musical style in particular woud really suit the ME universe, it has that perfect sci-fi vibe. He'd be a great addition to the Mass Effect soundscape imo.
