I've tried uninstalling mods, emptying out my override folder, opening the game and disabling any mods in "Downloadable Content" (in reference to .dazip files) and nothing seems to be working.  Here's the issues:

1) All of my mages have no armor on.  They not only show up in their loincloths but when in Ostagar heading to the Tower and the mage is added to my party he is not wearing any armor.  Same thing if I start up as a mage in the Tower.

2) Speaking of starting in the tower...Uldred and Gregoire and Cullen even are all slightly metallic and Uldred has no hair or back of a head.  He is wearing the same armor as the First Enchanter from DA:2 and the same staff but I don't have a mod active with that in it so I have no idea what this is all about.

3) Speaking of NPCs with no hair or back of a skull, Leliana is also missing these things!

I am running close to 40 mods and I've compiled everything into a single chargenmorph file but even before that when I was using NMM to download/install/activate it Leliana was still back-of-the-head-less.  I cannot speak for the Mage starting point as I didn't think to check that at the time and didn't know it would be an issue.

If anyone has any ideas I'm ready to try to fix this because I have no idea what to do aside from delete EVERYTHING (game included) and start from scratch!

Seems like you have a throng of compatibility errors.

What I do when this happens is uninstall my most recent mods to see which one caused the error.

Hello,

To me it seems like a file or more are missing on your Dragon Age folder, therefor and if I'm right, your only solution is to re-install the game as it will probably be crazy to identify which files are missing and then, of course, find them on the internet.

But for doing this you don't need to remove everything.

Hope it helps!

What is in your \Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\data folder? It sounds like you are missing textures. I would use damodder to uninstall ALL the mods (this way it will show you what is installed). Then check your installed content to make sure everything is gone, then check the vanilla game to see if the textures are showing up.

If your override folder is empty, it sounds like the game is still looking for special armor and cosmetic textures that are not there. Save a copy of your current chargenmorph file and generate a new vanilla file for override.

I also responded to (what I believe is) your nearly identical query on DA Nexus, and will reiterate here that it's important to understand that if you've already visited a map, troubleshooting equipment issues probably require working from a save where that map has never been accessed. For the magi origin, that means starting a new game. For Ostagar, that means prior to Duncan and the Warden entering that map. (This applies if you've installed any mods that alter the equipment assigned to NPCs, or replaces the vanilla models with something else. The fact that Irving is wearing Orsino's gear indicates one or the other... I suggest searching your override folder for files called bhm400cr_irving.utc and/or cir240cr_irving.utc to begin tracking down what is altering his equipment. It seems likely that some mod 'stealth installed' some changes you did not intend or want.)

You almost assuredly are missing some meshes and textures for whatever morphs aren't working properly, but without knowing what those morphs are, it's impossible to triage your issues and determine where to obtain those missing assets.

The chargenmorphcfg.xml file has absolutely zero impact on anything apart from what assets are available for your Warden during character creation on the 'sliders'. It doesn't  affect NPCs at all.

Finally, using the Nexus Mod Manager is problematic for mods that were not specifically packaged to use it. (The 'Download with manager' button being available is not indicative of the mod being compatible with NMM, BTW, as that option is defaulted to for older, pre-NMM mods no longer being monitored or maintained by their creators/uploaders.)

Thanks for all the replies so quickly!  I have wiped out all the mods I could possibly find and uninstalled the game and am redownloading and installing it again.  (And I'm not sure why I referring to Irving as Uldred, total space cadet moment).  Triage is a great word for what I've been doing the past two days, I'm starting from scratch now.

Also something to note. I'm running two hard drives on this computer.  I installed a SSD that I use for Windows and startup and a HDD that I use for gaming and whatnot since it is much larger and vastly cheaper.  I found Mods saved to both my E: drive (HDD) and C: drive (SSD) so I've gotten rid of all copies including the rar files.  Maybe a bit extreme but I'm too new at this to effectively do much without doing damage control constantly!  I would probably have been creating problems while trying to solve them.

Once my slow internet finishes the download and I get everything reinstalled I will post an update for anyone who is curious as to if this gets fixed or not.

Oh and I would always start a new game when I would uninstall or deactivate a mod, if that makes a difference.  The biggest issue I was having was with certain NPCs anyways.  Irving, Leliana, sometimes Morrigan, etc.  Either white hair, no hair, metallic skin or no back of the head.

Attempting to post screenshots.

Here's Leliana with no hair, or back of the head for that matter.Morgana_220.jpg

And this is how all my mages start.

So at first I thought it was the Mages of Ferelden mod that I had installed since it's the only thing that would change what Irving was wearing.  I didn't have a chance to check it after I deleted the mods that had been stored on  my C: drive since I had already uninstalled DA:O prior to figuring some of this out).  But I don't know.  SO, sorry for the spam posts, I just figured out the way I can upload some images of what I was dealing with in case I wasn't explaining properly.

So this pictures you just upload are prior to the re-installation of the game I assume you're doing at the moment, correct? Because it will be tremendously weird if it kept after re-installation.

EDIT: It looks funny! But I'm sure I wouldn't find it that way if I was in your place.

Yes the images are what I was having issues with and now I've uninstalled the game and am reinstalling it to see if that fixes it.

Pictures are very helpful.

If Mages of Ferelden is this mod, then according to the description, it puts Irving in Orsino's robe and staff, from Loincloth Fashion. Not having the other mod listed as a dependancy (RLs Fashion Bazaar) would result in exactly what you are seeing: Mages with no robes. So I'd double check that the latter is properly installed.

The missing hair (and cranium) is what happens when a hairstyle is missing a mesh or another model-related file (MMH or PHY). Double-check the requirements for whatever morph you are using on Leliana.

Using multiple partitions shouldn't be an issue. I have my game files on my K:\ drive, and the My Docs/Bioware folder that my mods are in is on my I:\ partition, and all works smoothly.

Yeah I reinstalled my game and everything works fine now but I haven't put any mods on yet.  I'm going to install one at a time this time and see what's happening.  Any tips on how to do this to ensure I don't run in to the same issue (aside from just not installing Mages of Ferelden)?

Use Mod Manager and make sure to install any mods that can cause this one by one.

Things like char respec or no fade aren't relevant to the issue, so install away. It's mostly textures, here.

I had an issue with a mod that made Wynne's hair and backhead disappear and I never managed to fix it. Ended up giving Wynne a hat.

Well I got everything installed and so far so good.  I've skipped installing several of the mods I felt could be culprits and installed each mod individually then ran DA: Origins for a few minutes making sure it worked fine.  Going to try playing for a bit so we will see what happens!! *fingers and toes crossed*
