Corypheus and the Tevinter mages entering the black city worshipped Dumat the dragon of silence. Corypheus says Dumat led them to the black city but it was already black.
The blight and its calling is through dialogue and lore refered to as a song. This isnt just a metaphor, Bartrand for example in DA:2 specifically call it the song. If something gets corrupted - seeing if they become the opposite of their essence, silence would become song/sound. Just as day becomes night and light becomes dark etc.
My theory is that:
X tricked the magisters to enter the golden city, posing as Dumat.
X is the most powerful fade demon and could be Fen'Harel himself OR Fen'Harel tricked them into the prison working with said demon.
*The black city was a prison for the most powerful demon in the entire fade.
*Said demon corrupted Dumat and his followers.
Dumat is said in the lore to be the first archdemon. Either this is wrong or the demon of the black city/prison stole Dumats power. The corrupted version of Dumats essence of silence is the power of song/sound.
The demon in the black citadel/prison uses Dumats power to create the blight.
Bottomline: I dont think there is a coincidence that there is countless references to the blight being a song/sound which influences, and the opposite of silence (the very essence of Dumat, the first corrupted) is song/sound.
Thoughts?
