New to the board so apologies if this has been covered.

I got to thinking about some of the reappearing cast and it occurred to me Varric was around 22nd level at the end of my DA2 run, (DLC's included). Is some sort of previous experience going to be taken into account, or do we think it's likely he'll be linked to whichever level the Inquisitor is when he joins the team?

I know the latter option makes for smoother game play but Varric was my buddy with a lot of his best skills maxed out and it would be odd for him to be not so good again.

As with Anders in DA2, his previous high level will probably be ignored.

 

It's probably best to accept that character level in gameplay has very little to do with experience in the story - otherwise we have to explain stuff like Finn from Witch Hunt being at a much higher level than Wynne and Irving in DAO, despite not having left the Tower since childhood.
