I didn't like how Jacob was critiquing all of the new squadies. If that was his job, Shepard should've been able to remove him. "I don't like him, I don't like her" etc. At least they can keep a girlfriend for a few months.

Huh? He is only sceptical/hostile towards Grund, Legion and Thane, while outright stating admiration (maybe not the right word) toward Garrus, Tali and Samara.

Not wanting a "perfect" Krogan and Geth on the team is quite understandable, imo.

I have a question. I noticed two voice actors listed on IMDB for Jacob. Anyone know why?

In ME2, Jacob said frequently during combat "nothing can hurt me!" (when wrapped in his blue shield).   Joker said (more or less) "Jacob is a nice guy for someone who can find lots of ways to kill you".

Can any of you tell me why in ME3 Jacob is a marshmellow?   What happed to his biotics & shields when you arrived during that shootout?   Codex said biotics get hungry.    Need a new AA battery maybe?

I like Jacob and I do bring him along for a few missions, besides his loyalty mission.

Going back to the original question I would say that it's not as much a bug as just a lack in oversight, or perhaps time. Not every piece of dialogue will have perfect tie-ins throughout the games. A similar thing happens with Legion when you bring him to the final fight, and he will suggest saving the Collector Base as it contains valuable data. But once you get back on the Normandy; Legion will question your decision, just like all the other squadmates have second thoughts about saving the base.

I'll go off topic here, but that is one of the most annoying things in the game. Everyone back on the ship criticizes the decision to keep the base, even the ones that support saving it while on the base. The worst offender is Miranda. The whole game she tells me how great Cerberus is and how loyal she is to it and the game gives me the chance to agree and share that view. Then out of the blue, without a single conversation that she has doubts all the sudden quits Cerberus on the spot even with a romanced pro-Cerberus Shepard.

Jacob is one of the few squadmates who actually listen to you with little resistance. In Mass Effect 2 Jacob actually asks for trust and gives little if any back talk through missions. When you meet him again in the 3rd one he is wounded and shot in a losing battle and still listens with little back talk. I use him sometimes, but it is mainly on missions where a shotgun seems like a good idea. My main shore party is still Samara and Kasumi.
