Just think about it.  There has been no end to the people that have criticized how horrible most if not all the head gear in Dragon Age has been so far.  So Bioware was like "You know what.  How about we make a character who's love for our ridiculous hats is part of her character!"

Personally I think BW really invested in headgears this time around, quizzys headgears that are shown so far look amazing. I think Vivienne's headgear is nice as well, very Orlesian of cource.

I thought they were just taking a punch at Disney for buying Star Wars by putting Maleficent in their game.

As much as I don't care for her head gear, it isn't nearly as bad as the cowls of DAO. I mean, she has some style at least. Those other things look like the drab "doctor" caps of the Middle Ages.

I only liked one mage hat in DAO and it was because of this. DA2, the hats were okay. I would say the female mage mage style in DA2 was great. I loved the turban with the gold crown on it.

OK. I'll give you that. When everyone is wearing one it's somehow better.

I'm just happy that in DAI a uniformed party doesn't mean a uniformed look. I so happy that each companion has their own style. If a team all looks the same you lose the character because you start seeing Alistair as sword and sheild when in combat.

Viv is really stylish, imo. She's the most elegant companion out of the entire series.

The definition of "style" appears to be "It does not look ugly, but it looks ridiculous." How else to stand out in a world ruled by practicality?

Anyway, Vivienne does look rather good all in all, even though her headgear is ridiculously over-the-top. She'll hear no end of jokes about it in my game (no Vivienne, your spell "Intimidating Presence" does not work on me), but I'll never say it makes her look ugly. So very much unlike the DAO heargear for mages.

Not everyone is from Ferelden smelling like wet dog . She is Orlesian and looks different so what ? Just use hide helm if you don`t want Viv to wear her hat .

Viv looks awesome, on any other character it wouldn't work, but she pulls it off.
