The Remake HD screenshots released so far are from the PS3 version by the way. I hope the PS4/Xbone version will look better. But considering this is Capcom....yeah.

Personally I wouldent pay for it again if its purely just a cosmetic improvement over the orginal or the other remake of the original. If there is some form of bonus content then sure..

According to Famitsu, this is an HD remastering of the 2002 remake, with the goal of keeping the game's sheer terror. Capcom assures that it isn't making any unnecessary changes to the game that will compromise the experience.

 

 

The game features both widescreen support and 4:3, and players can switch between the two while playing in real time. In widescreen, players can also use a scroll function, as sometimes background elements will be cut off in widescreen.

 

The remake comes with a dual control scheme as well—there's the classic controls, as well as a newer control scheme, in which the character moves in the same direction as the analog stick.

 

 

And obviously, enhanced graphics and sound. I doubt they'll add anything new to it. Maybe some costumes at best. But I doubt that. And honestly, I'm not bothered. Remake was Resident Evil perfection, and I'm glad they're finally porting and remastering it.

It's a crime that Capcom didn't remake this one.

That's something that's definately on my watchlist. If they got the controls sorted out (the original and Gamecube (the version this remake is based on) controls were atrocious), then it's a must buy for me.

 

It also bodes well for the likelyhood of the other BioHazard games to get remakes, in which case I'd break character and squee for a second or so.

In retrospect, Resident Evil Remake is part of my Super-Tag-Team-Best-Games-of-all-Time-list and it's one of those games I know inside out, answers to all puzzles, all numbered passwords, beaten on Hard here and there. I absolutely love everything about the remake and it's also got the best design of Jill before she got that dumb ponytail and turned into Nina Williams from Tekken.

But I already own the game and I feel a remake of Resident Evil 2 is warranted a bit more. But it's too much to hope from a Capcom that no longer employs people like Inafune, Kamiya or Shinji Mikami. Hmm.. I might end up getting this remaster anyway, even though the earlier remasters, Code Veronica & RE4 was absolute shite.

Well, the thing is, Capcom is desperate now, which is why we are getting this remaster of the Remake. Yeah, sure, it's 12 years late, but it's better than their latest **** they called a game, Re6. And Remake was a masterpiece, so hell ****** yes I'll get it again.

And as for Jill's looks, I prefer the Re5 version. Loved the ponytail. In Revelations she looked like she ran face first into a wall.

I prefer the short hair and the RE3 outfit but that's because it became part of her character -- The RE3 look is what I'd argue as her iconic look, it's what the sneaking suit is to Snake, whereas the RE5 look was a bit generic but everything about that game was awful so there.
Revelations had the disadvantage of being on the 3Ds. I did like Michelle Ruff voicing her though.
