Not much is known about it right now beyond the trailer but this is the renamed Assassin's Creed Comet.

Why's the cover have him with his hood on after all that symbolism of him removing the hood to show how rogue he is.

Assassin's creed logic. Honestly I think he's a templar an ex assassin like Haytham.

I find myself losing interest in Assassin's Creed more and more. It feels like they should drop the whole yearly release thing, although it seems that they instead decided they need two per year.
I'd also agree that they should just go and make a naval combat game without shoehorning in the Assassin's Creed franchise into things.

Interesting an assassin hunter.... Could be cool, though I hope there's less naval combat and holds a better emphasis on the actual assassin's/templars story. Though it seems Unity and and this seem they may do. I just hope we get back that. It died with 3 I think and 4 was just a pirate game(though a good pirate game
) with an AC afterthought thrown in until the last stages.
Assassin's creed logic. Honestly I think he's a templar an ex assassin like Haytham.
From what I've read in the description it seems he was betrayed by the brotherhood.

So the assassins are being dicks. Good.

Though admittedly I haven't really been too excited for an AC game since after ACR. But Unity has piqued my interest more so than 3 and 4 did.

Personally I don`t know what to think anymore. Because I am totally confused and cant think straight. Really. Who is the good guy and who is the bad guy in AC universe? I am so confused right now as everything is mixed up and confusing.

Assassin's Creed is getting to be Ubisoft's Call of Duty. Same game with bare-minimum new features slapped onto it released in a rush and sold for growing amounts of money. If Unity turns out to suck, I'm giving up on the franchise entirely.

You play one Assassins Creed, you've pretty much played 'em all in my book.
Nothing wrong with keeping a successful formula, but churning one or two of these games out every year really brings down the appeal for the franchise.

To be fair, they have recently done the whole naval thing which I'd hardly call a "bare minimum feature" even if I think that it should have been its own game rather than a part of the Assassin's Creed series.
and while it's fun to rag on Call of Duty for being the same game, when you have a core formula you tend to stick with what works and what made you popular. Adding in more and more features with every sequel also starts to bring about feature bloat which I would say Assassin's Creed already kind of suffers from.

It's a shame that since ACIII I've lost every interest I've had on this franchise.

Yet another AC. Great. They did the same crap over and over till they f*cked up bad with AC 3. Then they took one part from AC 3 that people actually liked and made it a main thing in the fourth game. Then people were like "WOOOOAHHH! PIRATEZ AND SHEEPZ!!!1" and now Ubi will milk this to no end. Don' get me wrong, I liked naval combat, but AC 4 felt like it didn't belong in this series due to how little the assassins were involved in the story.
Eh, I don't expect Unity to bring something different to the already stale formula. I'm sure it's gonna be a mix of AC 2 and AC 4 since those were the only good games in this series, tbh. As long as they get rid of those idiotic "tail your target and stay within this small circle" missions that AC 4 was littered with.

I agree, I didn't even finish Assassins Creed 3 because of those missions, got so frustrated with that last mission where you have to run through a burning building that I just gave up. Such a dumb design choice.
The more modern Assassins Creed gets the less I find myself interested in the series. I'd rather see new games explore ancient China, Egypt, and other cultures outside of Europa and 'Murica.

Well right now Juno is the main antagonist with Rebecca, Shawn and William Miles being the heroes. Then of course there's "you" in first-person view that will probably end up siding with our heroes. Hope that clears things up.

Interesting. Getting to play on the side of the templars maybe, or being a unaligned rogue, would be a nice change of pace in my opinion. I never really got the whole it's the same game argument because, well, the stories really aren't the same. And isn't that what's actually important in distinguishing the games from one another, their story and narratives, over whether they arbitrarily changed this feature or that one?
Not every game series can have the bioware "let's remake the entire core mechanics of our games with each new installment" method we've seen with mass effect, dragon age, and old republic.

This. It has become the norm to hate the game for being derivative but I've found that It isn't nearly as derivative as some other yearly franchises, and they are consistently putting out quality open world games that actually double as period games. While they take plenty of artistic license with the events they depict, I still have tons of fun playing the games one or two times once the price goes down.

What I say in my experience on this forum, to the people saying that these are all the same games, is that if people truly wanted their games to be different in terms of gameplay with each installment, there wouldn't be the inane amount of complaining at bioware for dragon age inquisition not being like DAO or being more like DA2. Or mass effect being less like Mass Effect 1 or not enough like Mass Effect 2.

Im actually very excited for this. I probably won't pick it up straight away (Have played all ac games), but it will be a definite buy. I can't say playing as a templar hasn't peeked my interest. Sure these games are released yearly, however their always heavy on content compared to the yearly trash which is call of duty. Also its nice how they slip both assassins and templars into actual historic event.
