Diet Dr.Pepper really does have all the flavor of Regular Dr.Pepper with none of the calories. It is EA we're dealing with after all.

Josephine ends up betraying us at the very end and uses her diplomatic skills to use all of the Inquisition's groups to kill us.

For me, this depends on the execution (rather than the content) of the plot twist.

In other words, amnesia as a plot device (the example given by the OP) itself is not stupid in my opinion.

I'm more interested in how the plot twist is executed, which could either be well done or poorly done.

Well, a plot twist I wouldn't mind seeing is: The Inquisitor actually did die in the explosion, no-one survived. But for some reason a spirit, just like Wynne's, possesses the Quizzy and brings them back to life. The Inquisitor doesn't know, and doesn't find out until big plot reveal moment. At the end of the game the spirit abandons us because we fulfilled our purpose and closed the veil. The spirit would be good in this instance, not a demon.

Plot twists I don't want to see are:

OGB, Amnesia

I don't like that. I'd rather have the possibly of remaing alive at the end. Not just slump to the ground dead after the day is saved.

It could go either way, Wynne lives long after DAO after all.

But almost all Bioware games have happy endings so I wouldn't mind a bittersweet ending once in a while :)

I don't mind that. So long as its an option. Call it boring if you wish but some of us like the Sunshine and rainbows endings.

In the end, you and your party wind up sucked into the Fade in a large vortex and there is only enough power in your glowy palm to return one person back to the regular realm ... so you all draw straws ... mini game ensues.

You find out the Dragon Age universe is Harbinger's attempt to indoctrinate Shepard by playing his favorite game in his head.

And then Bruce Willis punches you and takes your place, allowing you to return home.

Considering the time period Shepard must be into Old Old Old Old school RPGs.

It was all "a game", and the Fade Rifts are the OPAs ("out of place artifacts") of this setting. The Inquisitor is closing the OPAs so the "real life people" can't shut Thedas down. In the Real World, OPAs are just debugging tools and such. Thedas is a highly popular life simulation game that everyone plays. The creator is upset his creations have become too self aware or something, and is trying to destroy them.

The characters will then find D.G. at the end, and in a totally long and unfair boss battle, earn their right to live however they want to. Pixels and all.

I kept meaning to catch up with that one. Unfortunately I picked Kotor too late and the gameplay proved to be too much for me, but there's hope for NWN2. Especially since everyone says Mask of the Betrayer is so good. Has it aged well?

That was definitely one of the worst plot lines I've ever experienced.

Mask of the betrayer was so great though. I love the ''narrative'' thing. It's suck they have done done anything like this in any other game.

In the end, the Qunari aren't convinced your Inquisition is going to cut it and take the place over, as a prelude to the next Dragon Age.
