The only thing that will never change across all my world states: Hawke was always pro-mage and pro-apostate. I never saw any reason to assume he or she would ever deviate from that, given the background. I have a couple mage-hostile and mage-suspicious protags from Origins, and I know I'll run at least one Inquisitor like that, but I can't go anti-mage Hawke.

I so enjoy playing an pro-templar mage in DA2, because its soo obvious Bioware didn't expect it and it makes your Hawke a total hypocrite sending all these mages to the circle while you continue operating freely in Kirkwall.

My playthrough was quite satisfying, as I had a small helpful glitch. After Howe gives his speech, "I. Deserve. More.", the animation continued, and I hit him again while thinking, "I agree".

^_^

That's like the precise opposite of the game where my Cousland rogue decapitated him and he kept <pancake>ing talking. Shut up, Howe! Nobody cares! (Except maybe your hot son, and my Warden will be talking him around soon enough.)

It's extra hilarious if you're a blood mage. (Which is probably the only lore-based explanation for how my mage ended up Viscount, anyway.)

I don't know if there are any choices that would be off the table...

There are a number I won't make in regards to a cannon playthrough, sure, but those are only set as they are because of who my main cannon warden and hawke are.

But each Warden/Hawke combination I have made different choices, saw the world differently etc etc :)

My CE is an Optimist, my ND is a Altruist, etc :)

So yeah, while the first worldstate I make might be full of choices both my CE and I might make personally, none of the choices are really things I would never do ever for the sake of seeing their consequences :)

Magic wasn't meant to rule man indeed.

Believe it or not, its my "good" Hawke that's the pro-templar mage (I like making my PC's complex)

My evil playthrough is also my sarcastic Hake (what kind of sick freak cracks jokes while slaughtering people, and selling companions into slavery?)

I agree on that  picking the diplomatic option from time to time, sarcastic hawke it's my canon, mostly good Hawke, but full sarcastic Hawke, it's a great evil Hawke

Wow, you guys help me remember so many I've forgotten. But lessee...

1. Always kill Loghain. Always.

2. Save Connor

3. Save the Cirlce

4. Side with Caridin. Always.

5. Choose Harrowmont.......i just...i just can't...bhelen

6. Unfortunately I always end up siding w/the mages inn DA2. Even when trying to roll proTemplar....i just...sigh

7. Kill the Dragon Cult disciples. Do not defile the Ashes.

8.I think dead Anders is gonna be permanent.

9. Never give Fenris away. Ick.

10 Kill Castillon cuz really, he swears on his mother's grave, but she's prolly not even dead. And death to all slavers anyway.

11. Never support the demon mirror of Merrill's.

12. Never give Isabela to Arishok.

13. Carver becomes Grey Warden/Bethany Circle mage. (vast majority of pt's are Carver sibling).

....

i'm sure there are more, but that should do.

Is there one thing that no matter how many times you would play DA:I you'll make the same in the every pre game world state?

Of all the "major" options(Landsmeet, Dalish v Werewolves, Urn, Redcliffe, Circle, Mages/Templars, Hawke's sibling's fate, etc), I can see myself putting each option in a world state at some point to see how it might change Inquisition.  Of the rest of the choices, the only one that comes to mind that I might never change is Avernus vs. Dryden(I choose Avernus).  But even that isn't set in stone.

It just seems counterproductive to want to experience everything DAI has to offer, and then limit oneself by cutting off various possibilities in the game by virtue of never having a specific option chosen in the world state.

Loghain will continue to be as dead as a doornail when I play DA:I.

I refuse to let Anders live in any playthrough. Even if I side with the Mages in DA2. Which is hard for me because Anders was awesome in DAA.

Never let Anders live. Kill him all the time every time.

My first playthrough I let him live so he could, as Merrill said, come with me to help make things right. But before the final battle he's all "Thanks for being a true friend bro you've done so much for me and my people!"

And all I saw was red as I yelled "****** I AM CLEANING UP YOUR GODDAMN MESS."

Dead ever since.

The Keep is finally giving me the option to pick all the things I never have the heart to when I'm playing firsthand. Otherwise, I always side with the mages, cure the werewolves, save Connor with the help of the Circle, pick Bhelen, destroy the Anvil, kill Loghain, and do the Dark Ritual. In DA2, I'm always pro-mage. And I've only killed Anders once, in my Fenris romance playthrough.

I've never killed the desire demon who lives inside of Connor. I couldn't bring myself to do it, she seems so nice.

There are quite a few things I've never quite been able to do like let Anders live or Loghain.

But the Keep will give me the option to set up worlds where those options have been taken without me actually having to play them through. I'm sort of looking forward to it to see what the repercussions of some of those things might be.

Basically my canon world state is the one thing I will never budge on:

º My Warden is a female Dalish Elf Rogue

º My Hawke is a female Mage

ORIGINS

º (Broken Circle) Side with Mages

º (The Arl of Redcliff) Save Redcliff / No Ritual / Free Connor

º (Nature of the Beast) Side with werewolves / Zathrian sacrifice himself

º (The Urn of Sacred Ashes) Refuse Kolgrim's offer / Kill the Cult / Kill High Dragon / Brother Genitivi returns home in Denerim

º (A Paragon of Her Kind) Side with Caridin / Branka dies / Destroy the Anvil / Side with Harrowmont

º (The Landsmeet) Alistair kills Loghain / Alistair remains a Grey Warden / Anora rules

º (The Battle of Denerim) Alistair and Morrigan "perform" the ritual / Alistair sacrifices himself, deals the killing blow to the Archdemon

º (Epilogue) Dalish Elves receive their own land

º (Companions) Recruit all companions / Romance + make love with Leliana

AWAKENING

º Recruit Anders / Recruit Nathaniel

º Destroy Amaranthine

º Kill the Architect

DRAGON AGE 2

º Bethany dies / Refuse Carver access to the Deep Roads Expedition, becomes a Templar

º Romance + make love with Isabela

º Side with Mages

º Kill Anders / Kill Fenris (I can never manage to have enough Frendiship points with Fenris regardless of what I do, especially considering that I never romance him anyway, he always ends up confronting me at the Gallows, but it fits with my vision for my canon Hawke, so I don't mind)

I played Origins to the end a total of four times, Awakening three times and Dragon Age 2 two times to "perfect" my canon world state. So... I doubt that I will change anything from this point on. But, with this said, is there was only one thing (as the title asks for) I would never budge on, even if it meant changing most of the rest of my canon world state for 'x' reasons later on, then I would definitely go with romancing Leliana. It's completely selfish for my Warden but it's the only "true" thing that really matters to her (my canon Warden) during the events of Origins. Even if the Darkspawn "won" and successfully invaded / destroyed the entirety of Thedas as long as she managed to love Leliana then she'd die happy.

Nope.

There are decisions that I'll just never get around to 'cause I can only play the game so many times, but none that I outright refuse to make.

Ya, what that person said. I know I tend to lean to my personal morale ideals but having these other avenues to explore are good.

Saving redcliff village. My "good" characters save it because they want those people to stay living. My "bad" character(s) would save it because they need Arl Eamon and it just seems kind of dumb to like leave and then come back.

I cannot remember everything, so I'll have to reload the very last game of each playthrough from Origins and II.

Some things I remember I always do:

- My Wardens (thus, all my Warden Commanders), Dog, Leliana, Morrigan, Oghren, Shale, Sten, Wynne and Zevran all survive - even in my Chaotic Evil playthrough (because roleplay - although, she only really liked Dog and Zev).

- Anders, Nathaniel, Oghren, Sigrun and Velanna all become Grey Wardens, and all survive (and Mhairi dies).

- Aveline, Dog, Fenris, Isabela, Merrill, Sebastian, Tallis and Varric all survive (Anders doesn't always live - dies twice).

- Morrigan isn't romanced. :o

- Sebastian isn't romanced.

- Isolde always survives (but Connor doesn't - he dies once).

- Side with the Circle Mages.

- Stop Anders from killing Ella during his Dissent personal quest.

- Probably killed Decimus.

- I'm pretty sure I never (in imported playthroughs) side with Branka.

- Hardened Leliana and/or Alistair.

- Hawke defeats the Arishok, and Isabela stays.

- Friendship with Merrill (and possibly Varric and Isabela).

- Rivalry with Fenris (even though I romanced him once).

- My Wardens and Hawkes always sleep with at least one companion, and always romance at least one companion (only romanced  Anders and Tallis in one game, every other time, I romanced only one person - however, I killed Anders in that game because I sided with the templars (although I did get Velanna and Justice to 100 Love in my CE origin, LOL)).

I felt having a "Jerk" playthrough of Origins would have made DA2 more interesting.

-Give Harrowmont the Anvil

-Bargain with and release every demon

-Conner possessed

-Dark Ritual

-Alistair drunk

-Liliana and Wynne dead

-Never recover Stens sword

-Side with werewolves but don't lift curse

Despite trying my best to leave Thedas as a chaotic wasteland there was very little difference

I will never not kill Anders. Not once. I have a slight fear that if you kill him he might be turned into a martyr for some in DA:I.
