Ok, Bioware, not sure why you choose 5 instead of 6 Dragon Keep World States.  Aren't there six possible endings for DAO?

If we want to continue to play we'll have to delete some of these saves to continue?

If so, really not liking this idea, because I really want replay ability for this game.   I have well over 10 games saved for each: DAO, DAA, DA2.  At one time I had over 20 game saves for DAO alone and lost a hard drive and lost 1/2 of my characters.

Will we be able to DL from the our keep to our own data storage device such as our own clouds if we wish to save more than 5?

I"m curious on this, any response will be appreciated.

I'm confused. How do you know this # of world states?

It's in the news and announcement section of the forum for DA: I.  The Dragon Age Keep FAQ thread.

The world state is supposedly only read from the Keep at the very beginning of a (new) game, and not needed afterwards. From then on that particular state is kept in the game save files, on your own hard drive. So once you start a new DA:I game you can safely delete the world state in the Keep and make a new one in that slot, for another DA:I playthrough. It doesn't limit your ability to have as many different DA:I games with different world states as you wish, in any way.

Doesn't the Keep actually update the selected world state with the decisions made in DAI if you play the game in online mode (Origin)?

I haven't read anything to that effect. The only statement from devs I recall was to the effect of what I posted. Plus, having the Keep receive DAI decisions only from some DAI games seems completely pointless to me given they built it in the first place as a work around for issues they had with automatic imports from varying sources. It'd be like replacing the flat tire and making a hole in it as part of the process.

Hmmm, so you can only save 6 different world states? Is there a way to keep the information on a world state if we fill up our Keep and decide we want to try someone else's? Do the world states get codes or something or an archive online where we can save them and download them later on, or must we remember all the different variables to recreate a world state if we decide to go back and play it again later on?

From the dev comments, I also get the impression that this limit is only there to help manage the server load at release, and could easily be raised later.

All that I recall is that they said that if they do find a bug in the Keep that b0rks a DAI import, you'd need (as things were at the time), a new import to fix the bug; the Keep couldn't update your ongoing save.

This will get a bit.. tight... after a few playthroughs of DAI. We'll have 1 or 2 DA2 world states, then 3 DAI states.... and suddenly no room for another play through.

I already have a spreadsheet with all my characters decisions graphed out, but I don't really want to have to go through 30 min of copy and pasting every time I start a new game.

Nothing is final and it's just over 3 months to the game release. So quite a bit of time for the limit to change

I understand why they might need a limit. That's why I'm wondering if they might implement a sort of coding system that might let us easily call up a world state without having to go through the Keep process all over again, and even if that's not too daunting (I'm meticulous enough that it isn't), a code would help us when it comes to not having to remember all of the projected 300 or so variables that could go into any one world state.

Instead of having to maintain a detailed diary of my Keep States past, I could simply write down or trade codes like I did to trade Shep faces with other players.

a world state is most likely the decisions of DAO and DA2 combined. thats five playthroughs each. that gives you at least five playthroughs of DAI before you have to redo a world state.

I see I'm not the only one, this is why I'd like to know if we can DL from the keep to our own clouds for extra storage.  I hope they let us know soon.  I'm also going to have to get this done sooner rather than later, but go through every game I've got saved and make a journal of my decisions.  Heck I don't even remember which wardens I took into DA2 from WH and how they correspond.  Dang it.

Come on Bioware, Diablo III is saving imports into new generations.  Ugh.  I guess I better get started on these journals for each Warden and Hawk. Ugh.  When I start back to school I won't have time.  Heck, I might be pre-ordering the game but I won't get to play until Xmas break.

I can start more than 5 characters in pretty short order. I had 7 in DAO within 2 weeks of launch (only one was past Lothering).
