I think that is a grand idea, being able to pick your ship and customize it would add such an interesting element.

I could back this - I love customisation and I love having my own ship with its own crew. Combining those two together would work so well. And with the ability to customise Skyhold, the base of operations in DA:I, I could definitely see that happening in a new Mass Effect game.

no more Normandy's please, i'd prefer having a space station as a "home base" with a few different ships at my command

I really doubt they are going to produce more than a single ship. but hell, what do we really know? The game at this point could be absolutely anything.

It going to be a small ship frigate size if it going to do it. I like to see it on a different alien race ship or see more ships, as we did not much in the other races ship in the other ME games The idea of a having a space station as a home base is a good idea as the citadel is getting a bit old

It would bring a nice element to the game if you ask me. Managing a station and ship while your out stopping whatever or exploring since they want to put so much into exploring for this next game. Also please don't name it Normandy, that is Shepard's ship and it needs to stay that way.

I would love this to be true, but I could only see it happening if the main character isn't affiliated with any sort of military. Since ship designs and colours tend to follow their allegiance on the outside, and I doubt the military would be willing to spend any money on turning the galley into a 'Ye Olde English Pub'. But what options would we be considering, since all the ship interiors that we've seen so far (not that it's been a great deal of variety in that regard) seem to focus solely on functionality.
Love the idea of choosing our own ship. I've been a fan of the idea of being a pirate/mercenary in the ME universe since I replayed Skies of Arcadia. The part of the game where you get your own ship and assemble your crew and establish your home base is perhaps one of the best parts of it.

If the new character is military, I would like to have something akin to Star Wars' Venator class Star Destroyer.
Enough firepower to be classed in the Heavy Cruiser to Battleship range.
Can fly in atmosphere and even land on the ground to deploy ground troops/vehicles/prefabricated base structures.
Has a massive complement of fighter/bomber craft.
If not a military character...then something maybe like the Ebon Hawk from KotOR. I'd like to be a privateer.

Slightly off topic.. but now that it is confirmed you're N7 again, perhaps we will see (and fly) the SV Waterloo. Since that name wasn't used yet.

If Skyhold in DAI is received well I could see a Space Station happening.

I long for an era in the MEverse where I could peruse a shipyard and pick out the one that speaks to me. It'll probably never happen, but a guy can dream.

That would be cool, especially for the interiors. The exterior would only make sense looking into if our ships had a bigger presence in the cinematics. We didn't see the Normandy in action from the outside that many times throughout the trilogy.
Just imagine the mods.
I demand the Space Diva mod - spaceship edition

You know some goofball out there would deck the ship out with leopard print.

I was thinking of this a while ago also. It would be awesome if we could purchase/acquire different types of ships, and also customise the interior. Exterior could not be customised due to cutscenes and whatnot.

Cool idea. I was thinking an asteroid but a space station is cool too.

Only if they doing it with prerendered cutscenes which is unlikely with their new engine.Exterior could not be customised due to cutscenes and whatnot.

Nah, you can buy Star Citizen for this.
ME should focus more on a good story and deep characters.

This is something i do want, especially if we do have playable races.
The only thing is that all the ship would have to share the same name, because of dialog.

I couldn't care less what my ship looks like. Customization of it, albeit nice, should be nothing more than a bonus. Something they make after designing a character creator that gives you the ability to make your PC just the way you want him/her to be. Something they make after making the Mako work perfectly. Something they make after the combat is seamless. After the story is written. After just about everything else that makes a good game.
This, if it's even in the scope of their plans, should be waay at the bottom of their priority list. A cool customized ship is useless if the rest of game is ****.
