And there's no one that can beat Corypheus.

If you're a magister, you're already at the top of the food chain because if any soldier could kill you, he would and become a magister. If you're one of the five most important magisters at the height of the Imperium, then that's scary.

You add the Taint and you have the most powerful mage in the setting.

Corypheus was already beaten by a group of sub-par mundane fighters/mages.

Randomly killing a magister is not how you become the magister.

And what do you even measure his power in, when say he is the most powerful? Because combat prowess is out of the question.

So nothing but your own half-arsed ideas and baseless rationale... Gotcha....

You could say that about any argument ever posted on these forums. Everything comes from personal perception based on the given lore.

Actually, If the setting lore is any indicator, if you are victorious in a duel, your position will be elevated.

It's a way to rise through the Senate.

It's the exclusion of something a player wanted. You aren't able to play as a city elf, and I'm not able to pursue a romance with my canon.

With characters who aren't the main character; technically speaking, you're off-topic as well.

So your canon really won't romance anyone who isn't Dalish? Not judging, just curious.

I can't even say that much, since Solas is a hermit and Sera will be about the Friends of Red Jenny more than being an elf, so basically representing City Elves as much as Zevran did. Meanwhile we've had 2 Dalish companions, Velanna in DAA and Merrill in DA2, and can play as a Dalish Warden and Inquisitor so have that representation in DAO and DAI as well.

And I never said you were offtopic.

Are you joking? If you can't specc properly, that your issue, not the class'.
Bullwark of the Ages + Spirit Warrior + Berserker + Precise Striking +Perfect Striking + Peon's Plight.
Invulnerability, Speed and Damage all increased multiple times.

Awakening? Yes warriors were fine but again there was no time to balance. Besides remember the cooldowns, invulnerable for like 10 seconds and a year cooldown. You had to abuse reload to even use it two times in same quest/location.

What I said applies in Origins and DA2 though. Warriors are tanks in these two games.

I solo'd the mother in nightmare with mage, spirit healer, battle mage, arcane warrior aka immortal, half your health healed automatically every few seconds and huge aoe damage, also a tank as well. Awakening was broken overall.

I heard nothing of that.

I looked on the Vivienne thread. No such announcement.

Then why invoke logic an reason in the first place?

If it was as easy as that, the imperium would be ruled by a bunch of low intelligence brutes that can't do anything except for blowing things up with magic.

Yeah, it can be. Didn't you read the codex on the janitor that killed the whole Senate except the Archon? Why do you think he'd have done that if not to take their place?

Having power is how you become a Magister; for instance, Titus who had no lands or titles, just a reputation for power; and if you can't defend yourself, you won't be a Magister for long.

And what do you even measure his power in, when say he is the most powerful? Because combat prowess is out of the question.

The fact that he is an Ancient Magister whose magic was enhanced by the Taint.

Magisters are already the most powerful mages in the world. Add being one of the five that invaded the Fade plus a Taint that allows him to imitate the powers of the Old Gods and he the very best there.

Also, the fact that the Wardens built an entire prison complex just for him.

Because everyone does, and when there is understanding agreement occurs.

._. Erm Who say it isn't?

It's Golden Age is long since past and the few Magisters we have spoken with/ had lore given about them, were hardly shining examples of restraint and intelligence.

Most of them come off as super powered high school bullies.

Nothing like that, she hasn't announced to be an LI and currently there are enough announced already so people fear she won't be an LI. especially because there is one type of each already.

Cullen, male, straight.
Cassandra, female, straight
Dorian, male, gay
Sera, female, lesbian
Ironbull, male, bisexual
Josephine, female, bisexual

Not at all, but I don't really see any of the Andrastian humans wanting the same life as my Dalish protagonist. I wanted to romance Sera, as she seemed interesting, and I thought her possible jubilant personality would have meshed with my planned stoic elven protagonist.

Sera seems like she will provide insight into the city elves; I've speculated that her affiliation with the FoRJ might be due to her possibly rejecting a 'match' made for her, given her sexual orientation.

And I never said you were offtopic.

My comment was in reference to how I addressed that the Dalish and Vashoth won't have anyone who can personally relate to their situation, as there doesn't seem to be anyone familiar with the culture of the clans, and there's no one who knows what it's like to genuinely live outside the Qun (like a Tal-Vashoth).

Besides the entirety of Thedas beyond two islands.

Don't forget inbred.

The Altus families are probably quite inbred at this point.

There are Vashoth and Tal-Vashoth who aren't living on the islands of Par Vollen and Seheron.

It doesn't make any sense then, if magisters do nothing but hone their destructive power, they should be way more powerful combatants than they currently are, at least how they are currently represented.

I gathered, but i also understand that every one who lives outside the Qun, Lives outside the Qun.

o-o I mean, if you aren't Qunari, you aren't Qunari and they are a minority in Thedas thankfully.

I suspect they marry the cousins not brothers and sisters. It happened in Byzantine court as well which is the country Tevinter is based on.

First Cousins to First Cousin adds up over the centuries.

Look at the Byzantine Courts for which the Imperium is loosely based upon.

It was marrying cousins that did in the Habsburgs.

Well, here's hoping someone will surprise you. Though to be fair I don't think we are going to our previous lives when this is over but will stay in the Inquisition, so them not wanting to go to your old lifestyle is kind of a moot point in my opinion.

Sera seems like she will provide insight into the city elves; I've speculated that her affiliation with the FoRJ might be due to her possibly rejecting a 'match' made for her, given her sexual orientation.

I don't expect anything more than "The humans are mean to us, so I'm mean to them back" kind of thing in reference to her past pre-FoRJ honestly. Especially if she is the current Red Jenny like I suspect.

You don't know that though. Solas can know quite a bit about them, just didn't want to convert. And as for the Vashoth, I wouldn't count Iron Bull out. Sure he is still loyal to the Qun, but he has lived as if he wasn't for a few years now so understands what being a Vashoth in Thedas is like.

For one it's an RPG, the classes have to be balanced.

And maybe mages just aren't that insanely powerful as you picture them.
